Hahaha! Yup! I'm in my mid 50's! It gets more about recovery the older you get! 😂 Ice baths are my magic bullet for all training runs/events over 30 kms.

I love these videos. I know the fitness videos don't perform like her cooking videos do, but I love seeing you and Christine training and being active together.

I loved this video! My husband and I are trying to be more active, so this is a great motivator. Also a lot of great info on recovering. My husband hates KZbin videos and podcasts, but I'm going to try and get him to watch this one with me since he knows even less than I do about this stuff. We want to live happy, long, active lives and it's never too late to start 💕

I’ve done several ultras 50Ks, 40 miler, 100K, etc (I’m in my mid 40’s) during the times I don’t want to chew (like Christine mentioned) I will take squeeze applesauce pouches or baby food pouches. Also I like Tailwind - no gut bombs and it’s got calories! In my drop bags I will have tiny little boiled potatoes in small baggies to shove into my pocket they are easy to digest and very little chewing. Good luck at the race!

My foot Dr told me to go buy golf ball for my feet. Roll five mins under the feet (it hurts in the beginning) and than to take small water bottles and roll them on the bottom of your feet 5 mins. Heaven

Great content, love talking through race/training strategy and nutrition planning.... I've been using Spring Energy squeeze pouches, good flavors and calories and no gut issues. Keep up the good work!... age is just a number, but recovery is important to help dilute it :) I'm a late to the party runner who just turned 50 and am doing my first 50k in a couple weeks, got my last long run of 28mi in a couple days and then will start my taper. Enjoy the journey!

Thanks for showing the recovery part too! Y'all are doing amazing! Also, if you need another roller for your feet, my ortho doc told me to freeze water in a used Gatorade bottle and used that. It feels amazing!

Try Tailwind for a drink - they say it is a complete fueling drink, it is heavier with carbs then Skratch. I use it for my ultra runs! My fueling plans is Tailwind, water, and snacks (mostly dried or fresh fruits with some nuts- love Pbj and bean burritos from aid stations).

Something that might help with your shoulders upper back. Take a stretch band in both hands pull out shoulder width then pull towards you and squeeze your shoulder blades together.

Ive never noticed your breathing being loud 😂 But If it the deviated septum bothers you enough, most insurances cover the surgery since it affects functional breathing 😊.

And that’s why dogs should be on leash 😬 what if it had been another runner and they were seriously injured. I love y’all so much but I am very passionate about dogs on leash for their safety and ours ❤
@kathrynhilder9609 Жыл бұрын
Leash is great but won't necessarily save you! My old boy gave a massive lurch on lead to get ahead of our young dog on one of our runs. Caused me to land awkwardly and tore the best part of tendon off my ankle/lower calf. Dogs like to keep you guessing! Little devils!😂
@Kelly_Ben Жыл бұрын
I'm equally passionate about well trained dogs off leash. More fun for them AND you, more exercise for them, and no one is getting clothes lined by leashes or pulled down drop offs. To each their own!
@shawneeGoes Жыл бұрын
@@Kelly_Ben that’s nice but not even well trained dogs have 100% recall and other factors like wildlife don’t always care how well trained a dog is. Also, well trained dogs shouldn’t pull a leash and will walk or run with slack next to you 🤷🏻♀️

If this is too much of a personal question then you don't have to answer but has Christine had any work done? I've only had 2 kids and I need a tummy tuck to get rid of the excess skin. I've been told the skinnier and fitter I get, the worse I will look, because the skin just hangs off of me 😐
@FrugalFitMom Жыл бұрын
Hey! I was lucky genetically with no stretch marks and minimal excess skin after having babies. My best friend did get a tummy tuck after having her twins and they removed like 5 pounds of skin!!! I am pro surgery if it builds your confidence!
