Fun fact, in an earlier version of the game, you could avoid falling asleep after 2 am by pressing f twice. This allowed the the player to effectively have infinite time each day. The time actually moved on and stayed red. This is how I got to lv 1000 in the skull caverns.

There is also very rare dialogue when you walk into marnie's house, one is where she at first mistakes you for lewis. "Lew? . . . oh nevermind" (something like that) also I'm surprised he didn't mention you can catch them in the bushes outside the bridge also if you put a starcase into your pants slot in your inventory you can get the Golden Purple Shorts

Useless fact: If you collected enough stone to make 99 staircases to get to the bottom of skull cavern, Mr. Qi will acknowledge the fact that you got there by only using staircases, but also admit that the amount of stone you would need to mine for this ought to account for something.

it may not be 99 staircases, but I think it at least counts if the majority of the way down you used staircases. I made about 75-ish or more since i didnt have enough stones for more, and I still got that dialogue. :)

Just farm jade with cristalariums and trade them at the desert trader on sundays, infinite staircases that pay for themselves because you make the materials back for more cristalariums for more jade for more stairs

@@radmune5 It only takes more than 10 staircases actually for him to deride you for takin the fast way. So if youre gonna place 11 staircases; you may as well place as many as you got stone to place. And this is the actual quote btw "Impressive... very impressive. Making it all the way down here is quite a feat! ...although you did skip a bunch of levels by crafting staircases. Clever, sure... but not very honorable. Even so, it must have been a lot of work to mine all that stone. And that sort of dedication is praiseworthy. You're a rare one, kid." Useless fact: if you visit Robin the day after completing the craft room, she'll tell you she heard some weird noises and the bridge was miraculously repaired. Given that she'll add shortcuts all over town for you if you pay her enough, I find it a bit suspicious that she never attempted to repair the bridge herself.

Useless but fun fact: Before 1.3, if you used a Staircase on Floor 120 of the Mine, a Ladder would spawn that takes you straight to Floor 1 of the Skull Cavern!

i have some more: 1) slimes can be used to get ice cream out of season if you decide to unleash hell onto pelican town 2) skull cavern maxes out at 2,147,483,527 floors. if you get to this floor, you can't progress any further even if you find a ladder, use stairs, etc. 3) there's a couple of more fishing secrets you missed! > decorative trash can - fishing in town fountain > pyramid decal - fishing in the water at the bottom of the desert > 'boat' painting - fishing at the secret tunnel on the beach farm > frog hat - fishing in the gourmand frog's cave > foliage print and squirrel statue - fishing in various rivers on ginger island > 'vista' painting - fishing in spa pond > wall basket - fishing in secret wood's pond > iridium krobus - in the water's near the sewer drain. you must be at level 15 to reach the water (which can be obtained through eating gold quality seafoam pudding or using an enchanted fishing rod after eating normal seafoam pudding) 4) you can 'pause' time by playing the arcade past 2 am on multiplayer. found this out while playing with someone else. not fun. 5) on ginger island at night, you can see the moonlight jellies in the ocean

Willing to bet that #2 is because of how the level number is encoded in the game. 2,147,483,527 is 121 less than 2^31 (likely a signed 32 bit integer). Since people have mentioned that there used to be a glitch where you could use a staircase on floor 120 of the mines and end up in the skull cavern, that leads me to suspect that ConcernedApe cheated a bit and encoded the skull cavern to be floors 121+ of the mines instead of its own location (which honestly makes sense). Hitting floor 2,147,483,528 would probably cause the game to think you were at floor -0, and it sounds like he put in a check to make sure that didn't happen.

missed a one-time spawning slime: the prismatic slime! it'll only spawn once in your entire save file for a special order quest, but it has the highest damage and health of almost all other slimes

all of this is true except the fact that its once per save file. you can accept the prismatic slime quest and generate another one, and if you somehow miss it and reset the mines without killing it, another can generate so you aren't forced out of the quest :)

I know this comment is 9 months old but I actually got the prismatic slime twice in one day! Each slime spawned in the quarry mines, mines, or skull caverns has around a 1.2% chance of being replaced with a prismatic slime, so you can get any number of them while the quest is active. I was flabbergasted when I got it lol.

Useless fact: If you *do* turn your kids into doves, there's a small chance they'll come back to haunt you through your TV or phone. If you watch TV on the day before spirit's eve, it'll spawn a cursed doll that starts attacking you if you try to get close to the dove shrine again. A bit late, but on the Xbox version of the game, harvesting crops from the left to the right is faster than the reverse due to how the game find another valid target and cancels your animation. From left to right you play out about 60-75% of the animation but right to left forces you to play 90-95% before moving on.

A bit late, but in an earlier version of the game, there was a rare glitch that could happen during the bus ride cutscene. Pam would walk up to the bus and keep walking right off the screen, and be permanantly erased from the save file. You can actually still make NPCs do this by planting trees to completely block off their path from one room to another.

i once played a multiplayer playthrough with my girlfriend and she always checked the trash cans in town everyday. i told her she shouldn’t since it would cause her to lose friendship with the folks in town. she ended up finding a prismatic shard in one of the garbage cans

Abigail disliking the bone flute always irritates me. I wish that more villagers had specific artifacts/gems that they could like/love instead of the basic ones. (I say "more villagers" because Sebastian loves obsidian/frozen tear and Sam loves tiger's eye. Also, Penny likes all artifacts, NOT the minerals though. 3 villagers aren't enough when there's 95 items you can donate to the museum.) It'd be more interesting to have more love/like artifact gifts so that I don't always have to sell/throw away artifacts after already donating them. And also, there are so many random minerals that villagers could like besides Sam or Sebastian. Like seriously? Nobody likes OPAL?? It's a beautiful stone, and so is fairy stone and star crystal for that matter! For example: -Marnie/Shane could like the chicken statue -Elvish jewelry could be liked by a variety of villagers because it's literally a golden ring. -Robin, the CARPENTER, could like marble/granite because it'd be good to build with! There are so many possibilities with the artifacts/geode minerals. And honestly that's my only beef with Stardew Valley. It's one of my favorite games, and I think that artifacts and minerals could be used for more than being disposed of shortly after finding them. Sorry for the rant, I just REALLY needed to get that out there.

I don't believe Abigail is the Wizard's daughter. Here's my reasoning: Hair color isn't always a dead giveaway to parentage, Abigail shares few traits with the wizard otherwise, and while she seems fascinated by adventure-y stuff, she's pretty cautious and even reluctant to throw herself into danger. Other people suspect Jas, because it's plausible her parents didn't actually die, they were made to forget her via the Witch's magic, but that's even more of a stretch. However, there's someone in the Valley, a woman around the same age as Abigail, who we see performing actual magic: Emily. She has blue hair (which is close to purple), she's shown psychic powers, prophetic dreams, and literally levitates while meditating, she's got a strong connection to crystals (known to have magical properties)... If you lined the townsfolk up and asked me which one likely had a wizard parent, she's the obvious choice.

I’ve always thought this, too. Though, I also see Caroline as a possibility, too. We don’t know how old the wizard is, probably much older then he looks judging from his life experience. Caroline taking walks out to the wizard tower would make sense is she was, she might be drawn to the magic there. Her hair, while not purple, is still an unnatural color. If she were the wizard’s child, then she’d probably also be the witch’s child. And the witch is green. Kind of a secret hint? If Caroline is the wizard’s daughter, it would explain why her hair changed from auburn (like Pierre’s) to purple, it could be the latent magic in her blood line. It would be a great joke to hide the wizard’s daughter in plain sight while using the granddaughter as a decoy. And most like what we’ve seen of ConcernedApe’s sense of humor in the game and through social media. Hmm, I think I just convinced myself that it is Caroline. Lol

Its a 1% chance since 1.5 In the past tho, it was actually lower than 0.5% due to how it spawned. Before 1.5, if you heard an owl as asleep, there wasn't a guarantee that the statue spawned due to the fact it would choose a random 3x3 space, if there was anything in the 3x3 space, it wouldn't place the statue The issue is that it could choose the 3x3 space on stuff that you can't get rid of, such as your house, natural water sources or even the tiles that act as the boundary on the outside tiles of your farm If I'm remembering correctly, it now chooses a 1x1 space that is available, so if you hear an owl at night, it's now guaranteed to spawn (I may be remembering incorrectly, feel free to fact check it tho)

Ya, chance got changed to 1% and the way it spawns was changed Instead of looking for a random 3x3 patch of space and failing to spawn the statue if there's something in the 3x3 space, it just looks for a free tile I think In the past it could even randomly choose the 3x3 space outside of the intractable area of the farm (like on the pond tiles or past the fences on the side), meaning it would fail to spawn also, which made it even rarer

That was the best 15 minutes of my life to waste, also there is a 0.8% chance of getting a "Strange Capsule" to spawn on your farm, only happening once per save file...but the chance is higher when playing multiplayer I think, I have a farm with someone else and we're nearing the end of year 5 and we have 2 capsules... 🤔

I love it when the video is exactly what it says on the tin. Quality content. My fav useless Stardew Valley fact is that it calls them Spring Onions instead of green onions, which both suggests the game is set in or influenced by the U.K., and also helps you identify Stardew Valley fans in real life. (My dad once came home from the farmers' market complaining that some young kid kept asking for spring onions and I was like 👀)

another useless fact: certain items despawn after their quests are done, even if you have some left over. the only way to somewhat keep them is by putting them on a sign. this doesn’t really keep them but it’s the only way to somewhat have them afterward (aside from qi fruit where if you somehow get a giant one and don’t chop it down that stays and you can also make a mask out of a qi fruit that you can wear and you can keep that also) these include (but likely aren’t limited to- i’m still fairly new): - prismatic jelly - ectoplasm (i think) - qi fruit/beans. funny thing with the fruit too is if you have a giant crop and cut it down after the quest is over you get a note basically saying something like “thought you were clever for this one, huh? won’t work, you can’t have it” (that’s not actually what it says verbatim but that sums up the general message)

Just like to say I started the game a week ago and am really liking the winter music. Moonlight Jelly music was great tho, but the winter soundtrack feels emotional, like th season I suppose.

If you find a capsule on your farm and it is broken then there is a chance you could see and alien which will be a black figure moving in the upper left corner of the screen. It is most commonly seen in the bus stop area but it is extremely rare either way.

She will also be amused if you wear his lucky purple shorts and try to talk to her. I think they simply had a one night stand, and Lewis is too embarrassed to ask for the shorts back in person from Marnie

As much as I love the Dance of the Moonlight Jellies song, A Stillness in the Rain Duet (Abigail’s song) slaps wayyyy harder. Also, there is an Iridium Krobus statue that you can get in the game! If I’m not mistaken, you have to fish for it in the water visible from the sewer entrance in the forest.

Most of this info is not useless, especially if you are going for 100% which i did, so i know a lot of this 😂 But the prismatic shard in the junimo hutch is super cool! Your channel is wonderful and the videos are so good. This vids 15 minutes felt so long cuz i was really enjoying every second of it. I wish you had been around years ago when i started playing the game. This is the perfect guides i wish i had Fun Fact, there is a cave in the Quarry where you can obtain a Golden Scythe. It does nothing more than the regular scythe, but its cool. I didnt even know about it until my 4th play through. Always wondered why you couldnt upgrade the scythe, no i just wish i could get it iridium.

Useless facts? - Pick up the alien capsule before it hatches and put it in a chest. It will never release the alien that way, just keeps on wobbling when you take it out. Just don't leave it out. - The horse flute can summon your horse on Ginger island. Therefore your horse must be a good swimmer. - You can get the other Galaxy weapons only after you've received the Galaxy sword. - The "useless" Joja Cola that you can fish up is actually a liked gift for Sam and can be used for the colour blue in the Qi's prismatic grange challenge. - Some schedules of NPCs change if you have a certain amount of friendship with other NPCs. - The horse is one person wide when running sideways but two persons wide when running upwards or downwards. - If you reach floor 100 of the skull caverns for the first time, but have not received the additional secret note after reaching floor 25, Mr. Qi will not be waiting for you. - Jack'o'Laterns that are left out on the 28th of Fall will have wilted on the 1st of winter with a unique icon.

Almost useless fact that a few may already know - If you click on the 'ConcernedApe' splash screen at the start of Stardew Valley, the CA face will lose its glasses, make a 'bauk' sound and the game will load slightly faster (depending on when you click).
