Tbh I feel like this challenge would be a lot more interesting if you had started on the four-corners farm, just because you'd have access to stone and ore deposits, as well as more wild seeds. That, or the hilltop farm since you'd still have access to ores, but also fishing spots

Actually, I've played this challenge on those farms and on the forest farm. Forest was by far the best run. The extra wild seeds is HUGELY important to a good run, but the extra mine supplies honestly didn't benefit me much before the day out when I could buy all I needed from Clint.

Enjoyed watching this, you inspired me to start my own challenge. I modified the rules to be less tedious and allow for a sense of progression. Has been very fun so far and recommend it to anyone who enjoys the game! My rules for it: - Can leave the farm once per season - Permitted but not obligated to attend all festivals - When attending festivals, may not do ANYTHING else outside the farm except arrive at the festival (no collecting forage, checking trash cans, giving gifts, shopping etc) - Night Market Y1 - Not considered a festival - Night Market Y2+ - May attend all 3 days, must leave the farm at 5pm or later each day (usual rules about no foraging, trash, no gifts given outside of the Market etc) - No resetting days (I have broken this twice, ah well, it's my rules dammit!) Progression/Bonus Days: - After reaching Mines Floor 120: 1 day per year allowed (any day of player's choice) to be spent Mining (allows for a Skull Caverns trip once per year, basically) - After reaching 10 Hearts with any villager: 1 day per year allowed (must be a character's birthday, and that character must be given a birthday gift - apart from that its a free day) - After catching all 5 Legendary Fish: 1 day per year allowed (any day of choice) to be spent Fishing (giving gifts etc permitted, but majority of time should be spent fishing) - After unlocking the Movie Theatre: 1 day per year allowed (any day of choice). Must watch a Movie at the Theatre with a friend, apart from that no restrictions I've had a lot of fun with this challenge! I'm into Y4 now, have unlocked all my bonus days, max upgraded House, Barn and Coop, and am one day away from unlocking the Ginger Island Farmhouse and entering a new phase of the challenge!

For more money in winter you could stop planting trees in fall and use the space of your farm for foraging Winter Roots and Snow Yams using the pattern for clay farming. Snow Yams sell for quite a bit.

When I tried this challenge, I found that I could get a lot more mixed seeds by leaving some of the weeds and letting them grow throughout each season. Then just cut them as they grow.

Love this!! I'm tempted to try this for myself. Maybe I'll enable monsters spawning on the farm and see how much I can kill with my scythe. Maybe something would drop a weapon or even a prismatic shard if I'm lucky :-)

You can turn on mob spawns with any farm! If you do it, I would choose four corners + monster spawns. The special weeds are really good for this challenge

I'm pretty interested in seeing how may hundred days it'll take for you to complete the JoJa Warehouse. 200 or 300 at the maximum, surely? ... Kidding aside, once you unlock the Ginger Islands, mayhaps you would be interested in a season 2 by spending the next hundred days there? It would be pretty novel watching someone progress through the Volcano levels with non-upgraded tools, let alone find a dwarven weapon after years of using a broken sword. I think I have some Strategies for this challenge if you ever try it again: leaving 1 weed on the farm so that the weeds eventually respawn giving you more mix seeds to plant? another one could be also clearing the grass to sell the hay and makemore space for weeds while leaving 1 clump of grass for regrowth purposes. Also CLAY FARMING (I know it got nerfed and the pattern dosen't work anymore but the clay you do end up getting, would still make you a lot of gold over time. it could have been a goal to get to 20k asap so that you can unlock the cave. if you somehow got caroline to 2 hearts on the shopping days then there are tea sapling oppturnities with the mushroom cave. okay I think that is all the ones i can think of for now.

Don't forget to save some produce to put into a seed maker. Reproducing your own seeds could be very useful to you. And with the mushroom cave you can turn common mushrooms into fall seeds too, which sell for a lot!

Another challenge idea: Sleep through Year One. Or maybe it's Sleep 100 Days? Or maybe just Start in Winter. You can watch TV to get all the recipes, and you can open the door of the coop so your chickens don't starve if you're on Meadowlands farm. You can also pet your dog. If you allow yourself to go outside you can water the dog, pet the chickens, and pick up eggs. But don't plant anything, don't read mail, and don't sell anything. Don't tend the farm at all, except maybe keep a path open between you and the chicken coop, and the dog bowl. And maybe make one chest. Then on Day One of Year Two you can read all the mail, sell all the eggs, and see how much you made from doing basically nothing for a year. Then you can start playing for real, with these differences: - You start playing with more money and farming XP than usual, - Your farm is completely overgrown and needs a lot more work to clear, - Prices at Robin's and Clint's will be higher, - Dialogues at the festivals will be different, because it's year two, - Pierre will be selling all the Year Two seeds, - the big Bulletin Board in town would be open for high-paying jobs, - You know more recipes, so maybe that could make a difference somehow? I'm interested to see whether these extra helps and challenges will balance out, or skew things one way or another. Another twist could be to allow yourself to leave the farm on Winter 15, the first day of the Night Market. Then see if you could get your farm ready for spring in the two weeks you have left in Winter. You could pre-buy spring seeds, or maybe stock up on end-of-year specials at Clint's and Robin's. You could grow some winter forage seeds, which would be a difference from starting your farm with regular crops. You would have access to Secret Notes because you could get the Magnifying Glass cut scene. You probably could get some starter seeds from the Museum before Spring begins. You could buy some Hay from Marnie so your chickens won't be as grumpy. Maybe you could actually start playing on Winter 1, so the poor chickens wouldn't have to starve. Then you could begin the challenge in the slow season of Winter and see what it's like to start playing with no pressure to farm yet. I'm really curious how all these differences would change the pace of progress on the farm. Will you still get four candles at Grampa's Evaluation? Still get the Movie Theater by the end of the year? Befriend the villagers? What other progress can happen at this accelerated pace? I think the challenge should end at Grandpa's Evaluation, and we just see what progress can happen when you don't start farming in Year One.

For my own purposes I consider the north pathway towards the mountain to be my property too. After all nobody ever goes there. If I want to be extra generous I consider the bus stop too. Pre-pam of course. But then sometimes Abigail visits there. For my one town day I go on the last day of the month/year rather than the first. All shops will be open and you can catch the traveling trader since it will be a Sunday. Once a month is a lot less tedious while still feeling like a challenge.

I suggest you unlock panning first, but because it will be most useful, but then you can have a whole year of panning with poxial. I've done a little theorizing on this run. Is the day of the year you plan on leaving going to be set in stone, or could you hypothetically leave winter 28 year 1 and return to town spring 3. Something like that might be useful if you wanted to upgrade your axe. Also leaving at a point in time that you can buy seeds from Pierre. Turning foragables into seeds and replanting will give you something to sell. Sell them as seeds for more money. There's a secret cave at the bottom of the map that you can banish Jack to if he's bad

You can get thousands of clay from this, and so that adds up to a lot of money. It’s normally good for early game, but would have been a great primary source of money here.

Wouldn't it be way better to do this on the 4 corners farm? That little quarry would let you actually build stuff. In fact I'd bet it would take a long time, but you'd be able to level everything except fishing and combat without ever leaving the farm. No shopping days even. Not sure how to get to farming lvl 9. Mixed seeds and petting the dog I guess... But once you do, you'd be able to make a seed maker and then things would really open up.

Something I do on all my saves now which may help with the forgetting is to go chest, I put it near the right exit of the farm and anything for a quest, the museum, Clint or the community centre I wang in that chest so I can grab it all on my way into town :)

If you get enough money to buy all the bundles, I suggest you don't hold yourself to that "one day out per year" rule any more. Just buy them all that week. I did this challenge on the Forest Farm, and it went really well. By summer of year three I had enough money to buy all the Joja upgrades and the movie theater. I didn't want to just burn time for seven more years to buy them, so I declared that run complete.

So did you decide to do the beach farm because it could possibly provide the most value because of the washed up boxes and other miscellaneous forageables? Is the fishing better there compared to say the forest farm? I mean the foraging there is top tier and I remember that you could get some decent fishing there too (or at least the rare Woodskip).

This challenge is going to ve more interesting with the 1.6 i ve got a couple of ideas 1 mushroom farm with mushrooms logs plus de dehydrator thst you get by default with the mushroom cave 2 if you chosee the riverland you would also get a fish smoker free that can icrese the worth of you fishes but since you sre doing to get more trash than anything and also can't go out til the end of the year choose the four corner farm would be a better idea since you could mine also you could let monsters spawn kn the farm not for Xp because monster thwt spawn in the farm doesn't give you anything but can drop some items like mixed seeds
