George is one of the few KZbinrs who still feels like exactly the same person you first subscribed to when he was still in his college dorm making videos on his nano reef tank. Each new upload is like meeting an old friend all over again!
Sarah did so well in her explanations of every creature that he randomly pointed out and inquired about, we can see that she's really knowledgeable and has taken really good care of the creatures there XD

I also grew up in Westminster, holding Rosie as a child and learning so much about this place at such a young age! So these giant isopods are from the deep sea then that means the pressure is strong. How are they able to survive in these aquariums? Is it also pressurized?
@momallanimal24492 жыл бұрын
No no, otherwise she wouldn't have been able to take them by hand... Moreover, pressure where they live is so strong compared to the surface, it would need incredibly strong & expensive structures, with the addition of very difficult maintenance... The (very) more likely is that they have been slowly stepwise acclimated to surface pressure... a bit like when human finish deepdives...

The fact she talk about horseshoe crabs like nothing, but they are in danger of extintion this makes me think that not all places have the right info about how plants and animals are in danger and they talk only fun facts like this lady did about the blue blood, and that is the principal cause of their way to extintion

Not to mention half of the tarantulas had very poor enclosures, I was very surprised they didn't look ill or have bald abdomens.
@Cent512 жыл бұрын
@@ataka2142 You are missinformed of the tarantulas.. Nothing wrong with how they been kept..
@ataka21422 жыл бұрын
@@Cent51 Misinformed? I own 9, including some kept in those boxes. You need far more substrate for them so they can burrow and hide, being left out in the open with nothing but a little cork hide will stress them out.
@Cent512 жыл бұрын
@@ataka2142 since we sharing what we got 😋. I use to have up to1000 tarantulas at one stage of me being in the hobby, I use to breed them as well, I use to have 3 X big OBT communals, over 100 OBTs, I was big into communal setups. I have 30 tarantulas left but I keep them in diffrent sized plastic containers and glass cages, similar to these guys.. I also have a whole room for my spiders and snakes.. If they are eating they are not stressed. Also, tarantulas spend 99 percent of thier time in thier burrows or hides in the wild, only come out to catch food, move house, mate or if they get flooded, other wise they pretty much stay put in.. Smaller tubs acts like a burrow or hide for them.. You can not speak of keeping them properly, because that is bit hypocritical, you should not be keeping them at all, because keeping it in a glass box is wrong.. So to make yourself feel better you keep them in a nice big enclosure but it still keeping a "wild" creater in a cage for your enjoyment, can not have it both ways and can not judge others, unless the substrate was bone dry, the cage had mold and dead feeders and the tarantulas abdomen looked small and shrunken then I would agree with.. I am going on for 17years that I have been keeping tarantulas for..
@ataka21422 жыл бұрын
@@Cent51 That's very impressive but it's worrying that you see nothing wrong with A. geniculata, for example, being kept in a box with less than an inch of substrate with a sad little hide for it to "hide" in. I'm genuinely curious on how you kept OBT communals, did you have a lot of cannibalism? It's something I personally have never seen anyone even try. They may be feeding and they may not have bald abdomens, my only guess is these are temporary enclosures and nothing more as the other tarantulas seem to have actual good setups.
