From the great white shark to the tiger shark to the shortfin make to the bull to the oceanic whitetip- there are a lot of different types of sharks out there, and all of them are terrifying. But here’s the thing: There are even more types of sharks that you might not know about because they are rarer. And some of those are even scarier! These are the rarest shark species hidden in the ocean!

I've swam with Nurse sharks many times, and the video has it right. They can be curious, especially the young ones, but are seldom aggressive. Most diver bites happen when the person won't leave the shark alone. I've seen a shark get irritated and just swim a short distance away, its body language saying 'leave me alone', but some people don't take a hint and end up getting a nip.

It can’t walk on land. What you’re referring to is that it can walk across reef flats during low tide to access tide pools. But it really cannot be out of the water. It sorta hops from pool to poll using water channels. No sharks “walk on land”
@shewolfsiren
@shewolfsiren 4 жыл бұрын
William Brunjes I watched the live broadcast myself just last year during Shark Week. When the tide pool it was in was just about gone, that little shark simply waddled across the sand, using its little fins as little FEET, until it found a much deeper pool until the tide came back in. If you put a bamboo shark on the floor, don’t tell me it wouldn’t be able to move.

Greenland sharks don't live to over 500 years old, there was an article written by National Geographic stating they found one that was 512 but they later said it was a hoax. The oldest known Greenland shark was 392.
@TheKaijuGamer_
@TheKaijuGamer_ 3 жыл бұрын
We still don't know how old they get, it is difficult to age a Greenland Shark. But given that we don't know much and some reports of Greenland Sharks being larger than the largest Great White Shark means that there are some individuals that may indeed be 500+ years of age. Though it is a mystery, but yes, so far the oldest is 392. But like I said, there may be a few that are much older than that. But who knows.

Recent studies have shown that the frilled shark actually has been reported on the endangered list due to trolling nets and constantly being mistaken for an eel by fishermen. Though they are elusive in nature to humans, which is the reason why we know so little, many marine biologists believe that they are in great need of our protection due to their supposed "pause" in further adaptations that could help them adapt to the changing world.

I think a better name would have been "15 more bizarre sharks and shark families" as alot of the mentioned sharks here belong to multiple species, families (eg.: Threshers, Hammerheads, Horned, etc.). Alot of the sharks and shark families here as well, are not that rare really. Would have liked to have seen the Winghead shark (Eusphyra Blochii), one of the most bizarre sharks in the world and a good representative of the hammerhead sub-set. Just a suggestion too, try not to use stock footage of the wrong species you are discussing. You were showing Sand Tiger (aka-Grey Nurse sharks), in place of Nurse sharks in some of your clips. Ditto with the Saw sharks, most of the footage seemingly of Sawfish which are actually of the Ray group of cartilaginous fishes.

No I'm not scared, I enjoy the feeling of being surrounded by ocean creatures and I trust the glass will hold. But not if they have marine mammals in there like killer whales or dolphins because they can slam their faces or bodies into the glass and break the glass and hurt themselves. So if they have fish like sharks it is ok but if they have mammals, it is too dangerous for us and them.

@@ragnerschwarzmane3412 smell, electroreceptors that all sharks have, and it can take decades for the vision to be completely obscured so for a while they can see, they also use taste, and touch since they live so far north there's oftentimes ice that they bump into when they do on the rare occasion come up to the surface.

The video talks about rare sharks, but quickly threatens it's youngest viewers with 'the enderman under your bed will get you if you dont subscribe' As a parent, this conduct is terrifying. It may be an off-color joke but we know it's intention is to frighten young viewers in order to increase their demographics.
