@ Well said! When the iPhone 14 Pro series were rumored to have the “hole punch” I thought it’d be silly to have two of them. I wanted Apple to simply make the notch smaller. But they surprisingly made what many thought would be a an eyesore into something beautiful. I see many Android manufacturers copying it.

I have a privacy screen protector on the phone and it felt weird putting it on regarding the top portion of it due to the camera cutout but the accessories made to account for it actually are very well thought out. On top of having an Otterbox case I have a camera lens protector as well.

@ True. Many people hate Apple only because it’s popular to do so. But they forget that the company changed the world with their products many times (Apple Lisa/Mac, iPod, & iPhone). And I have a screen protector that covers the whole screen without issue.

FYI,there are definitely third party Dynamic island apps for Android. Maybe not the phone you have specifically but I used an app called Dynamic Spot on my previous One plus 8t and now my Samsung Galaxy s24 plus. And it works perfectly. All the features showed here works exactly on my phone with the exception of the flashlight. But everything else: calls, playing music,notifications, timers, directions, Uber, etc are exactly the same. There is a free version that's a bit more limited but does the basics and the paid version which is five dollars and does everything which I have.. Honestly I love this feature and really comes in handy, especially when driving. Yoi can just tap the island while waiting for a light. I know others complain about it but it's one of the few things from iPhone I love...without having an iPhone haha.

I think Apple should change the way Dynamic Island works: Long-pressing on Dynamic Island should open the application. Meanwhile, tapping on Dynamic Island should only expand it within the application (without opening the app).

I just found out that after doom scrolling on any app in particular, if you hold the dynamic island until you get haptic feedback and leave it, it scrolls to the top of the page.

It’s the same function over and over. Basically you can keep track and interact with up to 2 apps that support it.

Largely most of the travel apps are great with dynamic island. From flight to car rental and even apps like Uber. Hotels, not so much but completely understandable as you don’t need live updates like that.
