Aluminum will melt the ice faster as it is a metal and metals are a good conductor of heat and electricity whereas wood is an insulator , so Aluminum will melt the ice faster. I am from India 🇮🇳❤❤

Wood is an insulator, Aluminium will melt the ice faster as it is an excellent conductor of heat ( which is why heatsinks are made of it.)

A gold (Au) ball will sink in liquid mercury (Hg). Specific gravity of Hg is 13, SG of Au is 19.
@TB-wi3sq2 жыл бұрын
It wouldn‘t for long. The gold would quickly dissolve and form an amalgam. Osmium would sink too and maybe would stay

in aluminium plate ice will melt faster because Al distrbute ice coolness in it
@OffSurfaceAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Ok it is clear to all of us that the ice cube will melt faster on the aluminium plate, but why? This is due to about 2000 times higher thermal conductivity of aluminium. One might ask which one of the blocks will get colder if they start at the same temperature and are colled by the ice. In theory the wood got a higher specific heat capacity but if you account for the same volume and the higher density of the aluminium block, the aluminium will stay warmer.
@sathwikmadapati6182 жыл бұрын
Yeah but it also depends on rate of flow of heat which is much high for aluminium than wood . However this was pretty basic question for preparation of IIT.
