Search Ebay/Aliexpress for "Electromagnetic parking sensor". The sensor itself is a long metallic strip roll.

Great video, have all the info I need so thanks! Just wondering, is the device still working? If not, how durable was it? Were there any problems with it over time?

Still works, only thing is during rain or after washing the car (wet bumper), it beeps for the first moments when reversing, then works normally. Funnily enough, I didn't notice it beeps when the bumper is covered with snow, perhaps it does but I don't remember to happen too often

Great video. By any chance do you know of these (or similar sensors) can be installed in a Volvo S60 2004 front bumper?
@Peppermint1
@Peppermint1 4 жыл бұрын
The front bumper cover is more difficult to remove - at least for the first time - there's rivets, plastic pins, etc. Once removed, it is possible to stick the sensor strip along the back of this cover, making sure the strip sits on a vertical surface and as far away as possible from the actual metal bumper member - the metal will fool the sensor if it's too close. May need to find a power source such as perhaps the position lights, and wire an ON/OFF switch inside the cabin which will activate the sensor when parking. The sensor box also needs be located away from any large metal part. Here's how to remove the bumper cover kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqScfoyGlJmnrNU

Hi, thanks for the video. It was very useful to see the real visual demonstration. I have a question though. If I decide to replace the bumper will it come off easily? and will it be possible to attach it again to the new bumper?

@@Peppermint1 I am sorry for not expressing myself clearly. I was referring to the electromagnetic parking sensor. After installation will it be possible to take the sensor off and attach it to the new bumper? I suppose electromagnetic parking sensor tape can be attached/used only once as it will be difficult to pull it off in order to reuse it. No?

Hi there, I put a few links in the video description above. Pretty much anything you find upon searching on Ebay or Aliexpress something like "electromagnetic parking sensor". About $10 a piece, pretty much all the same

My s60 have towbar, do you thing it’s will be a problem ? Should it work what you think ?
@Peppermint1
@Peppermint1 6 жыл бұрын
Good question. The metal tow bar is about 5 inches from the strip band, I think it will be fine - plus it should really help not bumping the cars behind when parking. But try first attaching the strip band with some tape over the cover, and see how it works: if it works fine, then you are good to install it as in the video. Hope this helps.

I can't see how wires going from bumper to inside . Where is buzzer ?
@Peppermint1
@Peppermint1 5 жыл бұрын
You can see the white wire at 1:58 coming from inside the car, there is a hole in the bumper for one of the clips of the black plastic piece, I passed the wire through that hole, inside the right side of the trunk. The buzzer is attached right near the module shown at 2:35, you can just taped it there on the metal somewhere, hidden behind the side cover inside the trunk.
