For me BOTW and Elden Ring were more of a 7/10. The worlds I felt were some of the worst I’ve ever played. They just felt so empty for me. I’m gonna give RDR2 again, but it start is so slow and hard to get through. Witcher 3 and Persona 5 Royal is without a doubt far above all the other games on this list. I wanna say BG3 but I haven’t got hooked enough. A 10/10 game for me is Life is Strange True Colors and Spiderman

I'd also have trouble picking between Days Gone and The Last Of Us. TLOS probably wins by a hair because of narrative continuity. I love Days Gone's open world, acting, gameplay, and the hordes! In fact, the only lingering beef I have with Days Gone is that here's Deke spending at least 2/3 of the game mourning and searching for his wife, hopelessly, it seems. Then Hurrah! he finds her, this and that happen, and then for the entire rest of the game she's just around. No interaction, nothing. It's like the writers completely forgot what drove Deke for the bulk of the game. love your list, added two to my Wish List, thx. I'd also include Cyberpunk 2077 and the integrated DLC, Ghosts of Tsushima, and Uncharted 4. For nostalgia in immersive experience, I think of Ico first. Just wanted to give it a shout.

i played like 8 games past 2 months and none of these games is even close to immersive the witcher 3 which i finished 1 year ago with 2 dlcs. Witcher is legendary must-play game, i could play this for like 5 hours straight and just lose sense of time xD Btw from these games i played recently far cry 3 was the best, 8/10 game, i recommend to play it for sure. If you want to play old school games, max payne 2 is way to go, at the time of release it was true masterpiece, pretty short game but still enjoyable to this day. Voice acting, music, dirty noir atmosphere, bullet time shooting, everything is on point.

Sucker Punch games are really underrated but Not Ghost of Tsushima! The earlier entries like the Sly Cooper series is a huge recommendation. Sly 2 and Sly 3 are absolutely bangers and can easily be played via PCSX emulator on PC.

This is just a list of fantastic games, not 10/10 games. I think 10/10 would suggest no criticism of any element of a game, but many of these have at least some criticism that could be made. BOTW is one of my favorite games ever, but I won’t argue it has much of a story. RDR2 has amazing realism and world building, but the menus are unintuitive and the traversal/controls are slow and clunky. And so on. That said, agreed that it’s a list of some of the greatest games ever. Watching it though, it occurs to me that some of them didn’t hold my interest, and I think a fascinating video topic would be “greatest games that bored me, with a look into some of the reasons that happens.” Might include things like aesthetics, gameplay loops with a weak link, simplicity vs complexity, etc.

People repeat that, but I’ve never understood what they mean. I enjoyed the hell out of Witcher’s combat. You’ve got dodge, dodge roll, parry and counter mechanics, fast and slow attacks, advanced spinning moves, cool gory finishers, and all of it freely combos with the various sign magics. Do a KZbin search for Witcher 3 combat montage or something, and then compare that to any open world RPG of your choice. I mean, what’s not to like?

"Perfect" is a very brave word to use, when most games on this list are obviously great, but one and done experiences. Unless you absolutely love those kind of games, you won't put hundreds of hours, or multiple playthroughs in it. For example, if i wasn't a SMT fan, i wouldn't have put a second playthrough in persona 5, one of the easiest in the smt universe, but a great welcome game for new comers. Games like RE4, BG3, Elden Ring, are designed for multiple playthroughs, i loved botw, in my opinion it has one of, if not the best exploration gameplay in videogame history, and i'm not even a zelda fan, i only played the first one, on the nes before, but i didn't love that much to put hundreds of hours into it, and find every korok seed (just an example), to get a piece of sh*t, that is golden (i looked it up). I put calm lil 60 hours into it, end of story. Rdr 2 has some of the best direction ever, sh*ts on a lot of Hollywood movies, you can do a lot of things in it, but rockstar has the same gameplay model since gta 3. Personally i wouldn't give even my favorite games ten out of tens, because i'm stupid, and i always try to read between the lines, and can't truly enjoy most games for what they are.
