Ya! I'm a nerdy and geeky bass hobo too, after practicing for the day everything has its place. I make sure my loops are nice and tight while wiping down the fingerprints off my guitar. Organizing my sheet music for the next day. I ❤ it. I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm so happy.

These are spot on. Spend money on a great instrument cable, learn to do your own setup, and always own a P bass(even if it’s not your main instrument). Great video.

I've been playing a 5 string since 2000 approximately when I got my Spector, really helps with the lower register. I never drop my tuning, just really good at transposing down in my head now.

Thank you! Interested to hear more about that pedal board that flashed by
Yep keep organized for sure. I was playing this old dive . Out of the blue two guys started fighting n they're feet got caught in my 20ft chord. The band keeps playing im trying to hold both ends of my chord. I'm like really!! Thank goodness they stopped. Dan's right make sure you have Ed everything secure. And once cat fight happened n they ran into my 8-10 cab n tube head. Thank goodness 2 guys prevented my amp from falling.That was 2 isolated incidences thank you Dan your the best of the best 💓

Thanks a lot once again for this video. After playing a passive bass for more than 6 years, I recently bought my own bass now which is a Cort action V plus which is a 5 strings bass with 2 active EQs. It is a different experience all together for me. I felt very comfortable playing with tuning a whole step down as it is very helpful for gospel songs. For some weird reasons I could not really set my new bass that way so I finally tuned it in a standard tuning. I have learnt many new things from this video. Thanks a lot for your time! May God continue to bless you! 🙂🫸🫷

HI Dan Can you do a break down of the Eagles Take it Easy ?
@OnlineBassCourses Жыл бұрын
100% not!! I love the Eagles but someone in their admin team manually searches KZbin videos and issues copyright claims and strikes if anyone uses their material. One tutorial was just me playing an Eagles bass line with no backing music at all. Copyright claim… Happened to me twice and loads of other KZbinrs too. You can lose your channel after three strikes. So mine is an Eagles-free channel unfortunately.

Hey, thank you for the video! I have this FRAMUS Bass and I can’t find a gig bag that works with it, do you have a gig bag for it? If so which one you are using? Thanks in advance (:

Cool - it’s a very quirky bass! I don’t actually. I can’t remember how I got it home or if was delivered. There must be something out there though!

Good, simple advice. As far as strings go, I personally can’t stand stainless steel strings because they are hard as a diamond. They hurt my fingers. Anyone else feel the same way?
@silencedones4421 Жыл бұрын
They will also destroy your nickel frets. If you have to get stainless steel get nickel coated or something coated over them.

@@silencedones4421I use stainless steel strings on my Jazz Fender made in USA. My frets seem to be holding up very well. It's a blonde Maple jazz made in 1999.
@bAgRiMoIrEsS.4 Жыл бұрын
@@MsRouderI was using flat wounds on my fretless that I like to play around on once in awhile. But I found I still wasn't getting that bright tone I was looking for when recording. So, I decided what the hell I'm going to throw some stainless steels on there, and that was one of the best decisions I've ever made. They sound great on CDR.. the round wounds don't bother the fretboard either. Barely a mark.
@silencedones4421 Жыл бұрын
@@bAgRiMoIrEsS.4 it also has a lot to do with your playing style. Someone who plays hard will eat the frets right away while someone with a soft touch could play for many many years and not have any issues. However it is something to consider because it can happen.

I will never understand the recommendation for a Precision bass as someone's first, or only bass. Go to the local shop and play every bass until you find the one that feels right to you.
@OnlineBassCourses Жыл бұрын
Yeah that, obviously. I was talking more about professional players with that one. Or people who want to record.
