I always asked my mom , dad or neighbors to give me the bill to save and not take it back to the bank. unfortunately they didnt understand even my dad who started me in coin collecting didnot recognize the value and rareity of these error notes which were very common back then. I recognized them right away as a kid.

I have a $5 bill, w/ a 1" wide stripe of blurry ink vertically on left front and appears to bleed darker on back right side. Was told worth more than face value and have been searching several videos. I'm brand new to this and you make it sound very interesting, so thank you for that. Something that I find regularly is the 3rd numerical digit in the rt upper serial number being very strong or "overinked". I don't know why this occurs so often. Also don't know if they are really collectible or not.

Omg... Well now don't I feel stupid after watching this. I remember a few times after cashing my paycheck finding bills that were misaligned and had the lime green FR stamp. I just remembered looking at them and checking to make sure they were real just because they were so oddly different. I felt like I was using fake money and commiting a crime by just having them so I was in a hurry just to get them out of my wallet. Idk why because I didn't do nothing wrong. I guess because you'd think it's money. The Federal reserve wouldn't make a mistake like this and not notice it and send it out in circulation. I'm so happy to have came across your video. I definitely will be keeping my eye out and try not to get rid of it so fast.

Go online to 'My Currency Collection .com' and you can look up how rare they are- how much they are worth depends on rarity and condition- we typically sell them using online auctions such as Ebay. GL!

I suggest that you visit your local coin club and ask if anyone would be interested in your 'Star Notes'. Just so that you are aware; the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is toying with the idea of doing away with the 'Star Note'. They are also in the process of doing away with the 'FW' notation on US Currency notes that are printed at the Fort Worth, Texas Facility. Just sharing info. Good luck

Another being more or darker ink on the lower left serial number opposed to the upper right also I noted that " The " in the "The United states of America has a larger gap between " The United" than the rest of the words. I have a 1934C $5 silver certificate with the blue seal offset. Any idea what it is worth?? I also have a 2013 $5 federal reserve note with the serial number that is visible from the back side also (pressed through hard, I guess) is it worth anything?? The 1934c $5 silver certificate is it good one, especially with the offset seal. I've seen these silver certificates go for about $20 normally if they are in good condition, but with the offset seal I would suppose it would add a little bit more premium over that value. As far as the hard press serial number, I would say is more collectible than valuable personally aside from the value it would already have.

Bru Smith usually the services that do grading like pcgs will have one fee to determine the grade of something. there are also certified graders that can verify errors but their fee might be different. I know here in my town, there are two local coin graders.
