I have quite a few bills with only 4digits in the serial # or a few with 5 digits. Some of these are 2001. 2003. 2003A, and quite alot are miss cuts. I started collecting foreign paper currency before collecting US paper money. As a kid I was big into coins, ANY COINS! and it started from there. And im still fairly new to what i should keep and what can be put back into circulation. I have been doing more research lately because I drive ALL my friends crazy with what money I will spend and things I want to keep. And advice that you have would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! I have a 1985 $20 bill that has one off-center crease with perfect edges and corners with serial number A30202020B and federal reserve district number is 2. I think it’s pretty unique it caught my eye instantly, it’s in almost perfect condition for being so old

I got a $1 22422222 from a gas station 22 years ago, and a $1 21121122 last week from a McDonald's.

Some people will pay above face value for the "in sequence" star notes. As far as a specific value, unless they were fancy serial numbers or error notes, I couldn't see them going for wayyy more then face value, maybe a 10% bump or so.

I take mismatched serial #'s are more common in early notes? as later/newer inspection techniques spotted them.

The first one I'd keep do to it being a trinary note - 1s 5s and 3s. The other two dont have anything in serial numbers but I'd check them for errors

I have $20.00, series 2013, serial MB 59110145 E and the first "4" is about 1/2 the normal size of all the other numerals including the corresponding "4"in the other number. What gives ? No one has a handle on type error or value. Bill is very good circulated.

If a Bill is printed or cut offset of the margins (narrower on one or two sides) is that a collectable error?

Yes to a degree. If it is dramatically off center this is a misalignment error. If the bill is cut wrong where parts are missing, this would be considered a miscut error

The first letter of such a number identifies the Federal Reserve Bank which issued the note; since there are twelve FRBs, this letter is always between A and L. The last one has no particular meaning; it merely advances through the alphabet as each block of notes is printed.

My 1st time looking through paper $ in my wallet & on a 2013 $20, I noticed on the back very, very tiny #s on the bottom right side, going up btwn the "2 0". Appears to be same serial # as on front, which ends in a "0". Not on any other paper $ in my wallet. Is this something unusual? That serial number is not a bookend; usually the first and last digits of the serial number must have the exact same number: if it was 17171771 (note that the first and last number is a "1") then it would be an bookend. Another example would be 56789665.
