I grew up in a Christian household and in a variety of Protestant churches, but I don't ever remember pancakes being a thing around Easter. When I first heard of Shrove Tuesday and its associated pancakes, it was in connection with the UK.

(Disclaimer: true Fasnachts are plain, potato-based yeast pastries fried doughnut-style sans filling, but for you they'd do jelly, I'm sure).
