Jillian Smith apparently, here in Asia even if you try to save and skimp you dont know what tomorrow will bring. Im not saying im sure i will not be poor in the future. One thing is for sure, when I get poor I will get by. ☺️ always prioritize needs - shelter, food, water, school, clothing.
@jilliansmith71236 жыл бұрын
Tintin Zi: you may not know this, but it's the same in America. We, also, don't know what tomorrow may bring. Too many people are so "shocked" when they can't find a job, lose a job, lose a spouse or child, or have a major health problem, or a car wreck, or some other trouble. If you scrimp and save and have some money put aside in several places, bank account, savings, cash under the mattress, IRA, 401K, stocks, bonds...gradually you can cushion the worst of the blows of life. America has had major bank failures (my partner's mother lost $10,000 when her bank failed) and the 2008 recession was caused by financial messes that the ordinary person had no idea was coming. You're right, we cannot be sure we won't be poor in the future, but we can be MORE sure than if we charge up a lot of debt and spend it all along the way, that's certain. You have a good attitude, and I wish you all the best of luck and success...and fortitude when other things happen, as they do to most people.

This is basically how to spot a grandiose narcissist
@mkuti-childress36255 жыл бұрын
So true. It’s sad people think they have to act like a narcissist to look “rich.” I worked for years at a college prep school in a mind- blowing wealthy area. They are normal human beings, just like everyone else. “Old rich” people are sometimes snobby to “new rich” people, but that’s the biggest difference from “regular” people I noticed. I remember once getting complimented by a parent on a suit I wore, and I proudly said I got it for $7.99 at a thrift shop. The receptionist pulled me aside in horror almost immediately and told me that I’m not supposed to tell anyone that. I told her that I’m actually proud of the fact that I can wear the same quality of clothes at a fraction of the price. I still love a good bargain! Being real makes everyone much more comfortable around you. No one likes a poser.

Paris Hilton and rich people who wear designer have the money to buy that stuff, what separates idiots from the rich are priorities. You don't buy a $5000 leather jacket if you make $40000 a year. If you make $1500000 a year it would make a little more sense.

A gentleman walks into a car dealership to buy his 16 yr old son a car. A salesman who happens to be impeccably dressed, asked the potential customer to step outside the dealership, since he's dirtying the carpet and his attire is unfit to be inside the dealership. The man and his son walked out of the dealership unhappy & ashamed by the salesman's attitude. A few days later the same man 'farmer' comes back with his son, and the same salesman approaches the would-be potential customer and before the salesman even had a chance to utter a word, the 'farmer' says: 'be quiet and listen--YOU sir are fired.', the salesman perplexed thought it was a joke, but right next to him was upper management stating what the 'farmer' was saying was true. Salesman asked why and how? Management said: 'this gentleman bought the dealership and decided to fired you'. --true story and it happened in the Caribbean. At least where I come from, wealthy people are very down to earth and are not pretending something they are not.

Being content in the middle class, managing your savings well as well as having financial succees actually makes for a very pleasant life. People think that being extremely wealthy guarantees a fulfilled life, but those people that find it impossible to take a minute, be content with how it's been smooth sailings, and realizing, "Oh, I'm actually in a pretty good condition." Are the true wealthy people in my eyes.

I might get shit for saying this, but I feel the same way about 'executive assistant". You're a secretary.
@savahbejin75115 жыл бұрын
LadyHeathersLair: No need for any one to disparage you but there is a difference. A Receptionist is one who primarily answers the phone. A Secretary is one who mostly does office work such as typing, filing, and other duties which can be from the simple to the more difficult, and an Executive Assistant generally works with the upper Executives in a company. These people are usually more polished in presentation and speech. They do all the activities the Receptionist and Secretary do but add in making travel and meeting plans; sitting in with the executive taking notes; are privy to confidential information; and most likely have a college education. Not always, but usually. These people need to be comfortable working with wealthy people and have the ability to carry on a conversation that doesn’t t always have to do with the business. Hope this helps!

I don’t know, Secretary positions can be pretty “big” in a way can’t they? I mean you used the one example that’s probably okay.
@Katharina-rp7iq3 жыл бұрын
Except not all executive assistants are secretaries. The person that thinks up work flows, takes care of process optimisation and manages certain parts of the department for example isn't a secretary, but may have the title executive assistant. The difference in income is significant between the two types, obviously. Btw I don't agree with all of the things they said in the vid. Sometimes an idea just doesn't work, startups fail because market entry is blocked by far larger rivals or other problems and decent office clothing is a necessity (I said decent, not luxurious). Apple almost went belly up and was indirectly saved by a movie called toy story that could have been a flop, which shows how crooked the way to success can be.

You do a very good job with your advices. Thank you for that cause You improve my life with your advices. You re hard but authentic. You need to talk too about spend money and psychology....and spirituality cause all they re linked... Some people spend money because they think”we re going to die...money is used for living, we don’t take it with us in our grave...” The consumer society push us to spend money... I wasn’t aware about that. We don’t fake Rich’s...we spend money like consumer society. Parents, school..., family, grand parents didn’t talk to us about keeping and saving money...when we were children. They didn’t do their work of parents. Important to consider upbringing and psychology... Some people when they are sad, depressed, loose someone death or separation, they can be very affected by that. They don’t drink alcool, no smoking, no drugs, no feeding...no sleeping. So they spend money...they express their sad emotions by spending money. Others drink lots of alcohol, or smoke, or eat a lot of foods..... Please, Really talk about psychology...and make the link of money Because the effect of our emotions on our money is huge...unpredictable.... Thanks

He thinks because he works for some company as a superintendent that he's rich. I asked him if he had 100 million saved in his bank account, I received no response. I asked him to show me his bank account so I verify his "big money" he claims to have, his response was "I dont need to show you anything." 9/10 when people say they dont need to show you anything is because the shit that you're asking to see doesnt exist. Just two years ago my dad was asking me for $50 to put in his truck. Mind you my father is 58 years old and has only managed to become a superintendent at someone else's company...

Maybe I'm not understanding the point of this video because my take on this is people spending the money they earn the way they want. I don't think everyone ultimate goal is to be rich. Some people want to be rich with experiences; also if spending money frivolously bring people joy what do I care. This video just sounds like everyone should have the same desire to be rich instead of enjoying their life.the way they see fit.
@samuelpentowski60775 жыл бұрын
You watched a video inspiring others to become wealthy, what did you expect? The video even says that people can spend their money how they want to, but then lists several ways how doing just that is very bad financially. If you choose to overspend on flashy clothes and trends that's your choice to make, but you'll end up deep in debt and it will crush you eventually with the payments. Your idea of being "rich in experiences" will prove successful, you'll be all sorts of rich with experience as you file for bankruptcy.

@Suzle-Q5 жыл бұрын
Usually Corolla is a bad word but that generation of Corolla is highly sought after mostly by fans of drifting, anime or Japanese cars (especially if it is an AE86 model which can sell for $10k+). Even the less desirable models can be pricey for a car of that age. You could easily buy a car 20 years newer for cheaper so this really is not a car to buy because you "cannot afford anything better." You buy it because you have an interest in the car.

Cars are definitely important to the fake rich. I saw this in my own life growing up. I lived in a double wide mobile home, which was decent enough. But when I was in high school by dad bought a really nice Chevy truck that was only a year or two old. I don't remember the exact cost or percentage of how much it cost vs the mortgage rate, but I remember it was absurdly high. I really Chevrolet is not a "designer" or "expensive" brand, but it was an incredibly expensive car considering most people would argue we lived in a trailer

While some of these points might be valid, the intonation and descriptions given sound so pretentious it’s aggravating. For a channel claiming to provide insight into the ways the “rich” act, they seem to lack some of the tact and social graces that are common. Superiority and prejudice are traits wealthy people hardly ever have. Besides, the goal should never be to become rich; true wealth comes in the passion and purpose of doing something you love.
