SUMMARY:
- Contouring takes over the world these days, but French girls aren't that into it. French beauty is all about showing the natural features of the face, not hiding them and drawing new ones.
- French women don't style their hair that much, choose unpopular vintage accessories, and don't make obvious outfit choices. And that's exactly why you can't take your eyes off of them!
- If you're looking for a quick way to upgrade your look, take it from French women and put your favorite red lipstick on.
- Crazy colored nails or even the style that we, for some reason, call French manicure are too much for French women. They love to stay natural.
- All these hair dryers and flat irons destroy the structure of your hair big time. French women know this and choose to splurge on expensive hair products instead.
- Believe it or not, the pillow you sleep on can really affect your skin and hair. And if you want this effect to be good, follow French women's footsteps and buy yourself a silk pillow!
- Most women's makeup bags are a mess - numerous lipsticks, contour sticks, highlighters, and eyeshadow palettes. French women, on the other hand, only carry the essentials.
- Coco Chanel once said “A woman should wear perfume wherever she wants to be kissed,” and French ladies follow this simple tip.
- French beauties follow one simple principle - you can wear 10-dollar clothes and nobody will ever know but get a cheap haircut and your look will instantly be ruined.
- “Less is more” is their true motto, so they don't need much - just a good face cleanser, sunscreen, and moisturizer.
- Regular facial massages can completely transform your skin. And you don't have to go to pricy beauty salons for that!
- It's hard to find a French woman with heavy and unnaturally dark eyebrows. Drawing them for half an hour just isn't their thing!
- Women from France have their own opinion about hot new diets. Sure, losing a couple of extra pounds is cool but the lack of vitamins and minerals can make your system weaker.
- French women aren't fans of plastic surgery, so you won't find many women with fake noses, cheekbones, or lips on the streets of Paris. They accept themselves as they are.

Hi I'm French and I live in France since I was born and I can say that these are huge shots, in France every woman and man we have their own style for example some women like light makeup, others not , and all people are different. Do not believe either that we walk at the foot of the Eiffel Tower with our striped sweater our beret and a baguette in hand, each French is different in this video all that is said are clichés on France. I'm sorry for my English, just learning it at school is not enough for me so I'm sorry if there are some mistakes.

Of course , nobody looks the same, you can't ask for all detail for everyone, the same as not all American woman are the same. I can relate 100% with the video and I'm not French... I'm Portuguese and I think this "French beauty guide" applies to many European countries. In fact, valuing natural beauty is something common in several countries around the world. Thankfully not everyone is into the fake barbie doll look... I wear makeup every single day but I never countour or change my natural features in a drastic way. Makeup was created to enhance natural beauty, not to hide it and make everyone look the same.

Beauty in France is different than beauty in the United States and other countries. East Asian women also like to keep makeup light & only wear enough to enhance their natural beauty. I appreciate the beauty in being natural for sure, but there’s nothing wrong with wearing a full face of makeup. The only thing I dislike is the whole highlight & contour. Some women end up looking like a drag queen. Also, I just want to add that, some ppl aren’t blessed with perfect brows, long lashes, nice skin, etc.. so that’s why makeup can help them build confidence in themselves. I’m sure the creator of this video had good intentions but please try to understand that beauty is different in every country.

I don't think it depends on the country. As a french I can tell you that a lot of woman are wearing an "american" full face of makeup daily, some (as me) just a few and some absolutely nothing. There is no makeup rule depending on your country ;)

So true. Some people really wanted to embrace their flaws. But sometimes it's just really hard to stop comparing your self to others, especially if you don't have that nice skin, perfect eyebrows, and long thick lashes that you can just maintain. It's just really hard. Really, really hard.

@@meh9884 comparison is the thief of joy, my dear. There will always be another woman who you think is prettier, but it's all subjective. I'm French and honestly when I saw the title I expected weird clichéd stuff that no one in France does but it's actually pretty accurate. People don't really do contour and eyebrows here (apart from plucking a bit). Also I don't know if it's a French thing or a worldwide thing but the way me and my friends put on perfume is 1) spray the inside of one wrist 2) rub the 2 wrists against each other 3) rub the wrists against the neck behind each ear 4)spray the air above us and then twirl under the cloud of falling perfume so it spreads on our hair and clothes but stays light and discreet. We don't really spray directly on ourselves because we might get used to our own smell but it can be too strong for other people especially if you go to closed areas like public transports, plus some people can feel sick because of it and anyways as the proverb says the smell of your perfume is not supposed to announce you or stay behind you but follow you like a shadow so.. 🤷‍♀️

The American beauty standard has us all messed up. It's fueled, in part, by people's desperate clinging to social media & all the unrealistic fake body images we're bombarded with everyday making us more shallow & artificial by the day. It's quite sad.

One for going out, work, going to bed (yes!! husband thought it was weird at first, but now loves it ;) Summer, Winter etc. because there are awesome new scents all the time and life is too short. ☃if you look around mostly young British girls look much the same. Long hair, usually straightened, many have it bleached. Pony tail style and wearing jeans, some ripped. In the summer, fake tans, bare midriffs scrappy tops. Long nails in various glitzy colours. Eyebrows, weird shapes and fake colour. Some facial sculpting although many don't wear makeup at all. The French elegance also comes from the way they walk, BUt, when you do come across at true English Rose she is utterly stunning.
