I took up metal detecting as a weight loss program. I have been going for just over a year and have quite a few odd, and valuable things,, it's nearly turning into a hoard now, but the best find was a couple months ago, a few weeks before moving to a different state. I had been driving by a place that obviously been a home at one time because of a (about 100 yards long) tree lined driveway. The house was gone and all that was left was the driveway. After 4 hours of finding almost nothing but a couple broken toy cars, bailing wire, and shredded wind chime I was on my way out and found a 28.5 pound paint can of silver dimes ranging from 1900 to 1964. over 5000 after counting and organizing. I have a metal detector. I highly recommend getting one IF you like collecting & looking for stuff on the ground. Start cheap, then upgrade if you end up enjoying it. I must warn you, it’s highly addicting & enjoyable! 👍

I've been living a very decent life in Russia for over a decade starting from my 12 and ending up moving to Canada at my 24-and I am still living from the money that I made back then by metaldetecting the WW2 battlefields and then repairing and selling most of what I found!So through those years I managed to count SVT-40 and SVT-38 that I found and only those of them which I was able to repair was 173 of these rifles that were by far not the most common type of guns that I found and each of them when were sold by parts or with minimal deactivation(in Russia the rules of deactivation were very mild:I just spot welded a screw in the chamber and it was enough)for much more than a thousand dollars while the total amount that I made in those 12 years solely by this profession quite substantially exceeded a million dollars!And I am now 4 years and 4 months in Canada still living very well without working from those savings!Besides I even have left a collection of guns that I managed to register for my firearm license in Russia after finding and repairing them!Yet my best finds were my first gun that I found at 12 years old which was a very accurate and amazing and also well preserved sniper Mosin rifle which I still have in Russia and the other one that might be much more spectacular and mindblowing find for anyone was a perfectly preserved MG-42 in a crate that must have been dropped from a plane for German troops but never found by them and the coolest thing was that it was one of the first 3 thousand ever made,all matching numbers and unfired pristine specimen that didn't get a single dent,scratch or rust spot like it was just manufactured the same day!And best of all for me was that I was not only able to register it as a semi-auto after that but because of quite mild rules about semiautomatic conversions I also was legally allowed to retain all the original parts and keep them just separately from the gun itself!Now that is a real phucking treasure for me that I would have never traded for any find in this video despite the value of it being way below even 20 thousand dollars:for me it is and will always be priceless!

I have a cool story, my friend and I were going to the beach. I had a metal detector I was going to bring. So before we went I wanted to make sure the detector was working so I went out back of my house and dropped my gold ring in a hole I dug. So I turned on the detector and waved it over the hole and it goes off beeping. I'm thinking cool it's working so I dig down to find my ring only to pull up a different ring. Actually it was a man's wedding band 14k gold. Wat r the chances that I dug at that spot that I would find a different ring. Blew me away.

I found a rock with a strange hole in it while working my job. I set it aside to look at it later . I threw this rock at a much larger rock till it split open . I have no idea what was inside but it has a gold color. I had also found a large purple rock crystal i think . It disappeared hum where did it go . I had put in a small rock garden and never saw it again. I found a garnet in a public mine in town in the octagon shape still got it . When I found it it was in the dirt road where people have been driving or walking over it . I thought it was glass and put it in my pocket to check it out later . On one side it has some kind of stone attached to it . I have one other strange rock that looks to have hole in a line in it and it looks like a jaw bone . Pretty weird. Guess I am a rock hound . One more a piece of crystal or quarts that is a shade of pink .. How rare is that.
