Hoping for a list like this of what you do buy, especially things that other people don't typically buy.

I'll definitely film a video of the things I spend on!

Would love to see this also! The two things I buy are Kopiko brown coffee and BOH Cameronian tea from Malaysia (on Amazon) and room diffuser scents from Africology, shipped from South Africa. I travel abroad a lot and find new products on my trips that I want to keep using but are not typically sold in the US. I even have a sinking fund so I can save up and buy these when they go on sale.

maybe you can title it “luxuries i won’t cut out of my budget and why”

When I was in culinary school, I stopped wearing make-up, nail polish and jewelry because you can't do that in a commercial kitchen. I got used to bare nails and clean skin. I also stopped coloring my hair and, at age 63, am loving my new grey hair even though it took a year to fully grow out!

I honestly love how a whole head of gray/silver hair looks!!

I don't get my hair done. Black natural hair can cost about $200, not including tip and usually I still have to tell them how to handle my hair🙄. I also don't spend anything on a car. I live in a major city and just use public transportation. I also don't spend money on nails but that's not by choice. I know i can't afford it so i don't but if i did i would.

A definite no no for me is buying magazines. I used to be addicted to them and buy at least one or two a week. I do have kindle Unlimited as a huge reader and magazines are included and you know what, I never look at them. Some purchases are all about looking at pretty new things and that is not good for my will power!

I also don’t really spend on a lot of these things. The only things I do are Spotify and Prime, and also my hair. I used to go to expensive salons and get gel nails all the time, but now I go to this freelance Japanese stylist who does my hair in her house for super cheap, and have my nails bare. I do have a layered bob so have to go 4 monthly, as I find my short hair easier to maintain. I also used to buy tons of makeup and clothes but completely stopped as am in the process of trying to buy a house, so am doing a no buy to make myself look clean to the mortgage people. The no buy taught me so much about the amount of crap I bought and didn’t need, and am totally happy without it. I do love makeup and wear it everyday but I use my current stash, which is a mountain of an accumulation already

So much of this list is super relatable =) I have also been cutting my own hair since I was a teen. I usually have quite long hair, but every 4-5 years I chop it all off and that's the only time I'll go to a hairdresser, to even it out because I don't have the skills built up to cut short hair. And then I let it grow out again haha

Cutting out hair/nail services saves so much money. $12 for shears that have lasted me 7 years and $5 a year for one bottle of polish is all I’m willing to spend lol

I agree with the protein and creatine but preworkout for me is also very helpful. Gives me that extra push to finish heavy/top sets. Plus the pumps are better! Haha

Which protein powder do you use?

EarthChimp! Before that I was using Four Sigmatic which I would say is even more clean, but it does have a lead warning!

Haircuts are something I love to spend money on. I feel it makes me look more polished. I find when I had long hair I was tired of washing and drying taking up so much time.
@PersonalFinancewithLeila2 ай бұрын
I can totally understand that! I wash my hair about 2 times a week and just let it air dry usually...I can't stand blow drying 😂

I can't get myself to pay for nails or lashes, but as a curly girl who feels most confident in a specific haircut/style, I do pay for a good hairdresser. I grew up getting my hair cut at home, so now it feels like a worthwhile luxury (in my situation)! :)

Great list. I do get haircuts know way I’d cut my hair😂😂 I rarely buy new books unless I have a GC. I go to the 2nd hand bookstore or library

I dont have a credit card & probably wont get one. i don't drink alcohol, i have tasted it & hated it, from beer,wine,whiskey,ciders, etc I don't smoke, i don't like tattoos & will never get that either. I buy bottled water when I'm out coz some tap water makes my tummy upset , or i just take my own boiled water from home. I do my hair once or twice a year I wear makeup (only on special occasions), but i am bare faced everyday, even at work. For birthdays i buy gifts for those who buy me gifts, if you don't buy me a gift , I'm not buying you a gift, if you don't wish me a happy hirthday, I'm not wishing you a happy birthday 😂😂. Yes, it's petty, but i just match what people do to me and for me. The only people who get gifts for me for birthdays are my boyfriend, my 11 year old daughter, my mom and that's it, even Christmas gifts they're the only people i shop for and i get gifts i know they'll use... like perfumes, jewelry, shoes , and tools that they needed often but didn't have. And my daughter, i am paying for piano lessons this year as her birthday gift coz she's been begging me for it. It saves me money by buying gifts for only 3 people instead of shopping for lots of people who don't even appreciate anything you do.

I'd love to know more about your giftless xmas. Do you do something instead or do $0 gifts? I wanna bring this up to my family to do this year.

ooh it’s especially the nails and make up for me. i have very, very sensitive skin and allergies, so i also don’t do my nails or put make up on. on the bright side, it’s saving us some money!

What clean protein do you use?
@PersonalFinancewithLeila2 ай бұрын
Earthchimp! One of the cleanest I could find (no gums, added sugars, artificial sweeteners) that actually tastes good. I used to drink Four Sigmatic protein which I would say is even cleaner but it does have a lead warning due to the mushroom content I believe!

I am the only one in my house that drinks bottled water. I cannot drink tapwater or fridge water. I think it taste absolutely disgusting.

#1 I agree #2 disagree but want a limit. #3 agree, they bought at a huge discount. I don’t have a problem with it. you have to save what you bought from the year before. #4 agree, I use the phone every day so I too have a screen protector and a cover on it. But if the phone goes where there will be no more updates I get a new phone. #5 disagree, depending on where you live you can have a lot of issues keeping service. had Verizon, but it was not good in the Dallas area so I had to switch to AT&T. I think I will try some of the lesser providers and see if I have any issues. #6 neither agree or disagree. Just keep track of what you’re paying for with your budget. #7 disagree, my wife likes to get her nails done and her feet on occasion. Long as I have it in the budget, she’s fine. #8 neither agree or disagree, but if it’s in the budget, it’s fine. #9 neither agree or disagree, again if it’s in the budget, it’s fine. #10 agree. I am not a tattoo fan. #11 neither agree or disagree. I don’t mind paying for quality. If it’s something you’re gonna use every day and you can make it last 5 or six years go for it. #12 I definitely disagree with you. I like to eat out, but I do not like to pay for delivery. #13 disagree. I buy bottled water and my wife likes hint water. It’s nice to be able to take these at a moments notice with you wherever you’re going. #14 disagree. I do understand that it is expensive. But on occasion when I’m out having dinner and I want a glass of wine it’s just part of the gig. Now, if I drink two drinks a month that’s a miracle. A six pack of beer usually last me three months. A bottle of scotch could last me three years. So as you can see, I’m not a big drinker. #15 neither agree or disagree. This is my useless opinion. Great video.

So many of these tips are bizarrely basic and have no relevance to anyone actually seeking to save money. Don't buy designer bags? Don't get tattoos or spend $100 getting your nails done? Why didn't you just include "don't burn your money in the fireplace" or "don't throw your purse out the window while driving your car?" And I'm sorry, but you have a Google Pixel 7 and you're going to give advice on how to save money? My phone is a refurbished Samsung Galaxy 9+ I bought off Amazon for $160. Is this parody?

Hey, I regularly watch and subscribe to your KZbin channel videos. I pay attention to new videos but I noticed on your KZbin channel that your channel videos need to be getting views. There are several reasons for this. Below, I found your channel problem: 1. Video SEO still needs to be done. 2. Videos are not released on time. 3. Video Perfect Title isn’t used. 4. Perfect keyword research still needs to be done. Solving these issues will give your KZbin channel better results. I can help you if you want. I'm looking forward to hearing back from you.
