No matter how exhausted I am, I ALWAYS try to tidy up before everyone goes to bed! Waking up after my 7am feed with the baby to a clean house lifts my mood so much!

Such a great topic to share with us! Thank you so much! Waking up to a tidy home is the best feeling. We do that most nights, and it starts the day off on a lighter foot. One thing I stopped doing was setting goals because I couldn't enjoy the journey to the end result. Now, I focus on the lifestyle I want to live and set habits and intentions that help me do that. It's helped me live more in the present and relax a lot!

Yesss having intentions can be so powerful, especially when we can really connect with what our values are so we can better take steps toward living in alignment with them ❤️

No make up days and no coffee. Less concerned about what people think and less hyped up with energy to care what people think (respectively). Loved your video. Just finding your channel and looking forward to hearing more.

I have cut back on a few things this year and it’s been really helpful. I cut my makeup to just brows, mascara, and lip color-saves me 15 minutes. I shortened my morning routine. I invested in quality hair and skincare that has fewer steps. I declutterred my social media follows. It’s amazing how much time and energy I’ve saved with small cutbacks.

Good for you not doing everything. Tidying up before bed feels great. I always tell my husband, "I really want to do dishes now..." I am the same way about "just in case" items. I don't like not wearing make up. I live in eyeliner. haha. It is a need for me. I barely wear make up otherwise. Thoughts can take a hold of us and rule us. I am proud of you for letting go of things. I follow only two design people and it doesn't influence me to want to spend. I think we all have different things that we gravitate towards. It makes me excited to move one day and have an empty space (since we're a family of five in a very small space)! It is so nice to feel lighter! I am bad at washing my sheets because I don't have a washing machine and do everything by hand. Sheets have to be done elsewhere so I have room for them to dry. Great list!

I need to let go the prepare everything from scratches too. Maybe can you go a bit in detail with that one? Like which products have you discovered to be convenient and healthy and that you like to use?

I have also been thinking that I need to stop watching/following/subscribing to home decorating. I end either wanting to buy things I don’t “need” or feeling dissatisfied and discontent.

What’s interesting is, while watching this, I’m struck by how similar you pattern after my mother regarding any struggle with perfectionism or trying to be on top of details constantly. While I love her dearly, my mother can easily get overwhelmed and stressed or overloaded when trying to take on too much, and I’m constantly telling her, as more of a type B personality, to relax or let some details of the day ago, or not to take on so much in one sitting. In contrast, I’m more laid back and not perfectionist by any means at all, and sometimes this means being moderately instead of always spotlessly organized, etc. For me, a tidy house daily can be clean enough, or enough chores have been done once things are wiped down; my mother would deep clean everyday if she had the time, as a direct opposite. She is very task oriented and my style is more laid back. If I don’t achieve everything in one day, but just the important things, it doesn’t really bother me; my mother, on the other hand, could run the world on a list and scheduling book and still want things to do by day’s end with detail. She tires herself out a lot, and also tends to be an early bird; I like to sleep in and do things on less rigid of a schedule, but still use lists to plan. Basically, she and I are opposites; she thrives in detail and always wants to be put together in everything; I do well big picture and am more casual. It is very evident when people meet us, that though we may look alike, our personalities are not the same. I take after my father’s personality, not hers. Anyway, thank you for your insights; I’ve sent this video to her to see if she can unwind a little bit more and not take on so much responsibility all the time regarding the family. While I admire her ability to be as detail oriented as she is, I’m also okay accepting that I’m more type B, than Type A, and it’s okay.

I’m shock that some people doesn’t tidy up their houses before going to bed 😳 because I can’t sleep if our house is cluttered especially the kitchen. Waking up in the morning with a clean house and kitchen is the best feeling in the world😊 i also stop deleted my instagram and facebook for my mental health 😅

Hi Meghan. This was another great video! Thank you ❤️ What did you mean by not following interior design instagram pages? I didn’t get the point behind that. We don’t all follow those pages 😅 Just Curious because every one of your items has a point behind them.

She explains in the video that she doesn't follow a ton of them, so (1) she can be more in tune with her own personal style and not just copy others and (2) lessen temptation to buy things.

I also stopped using make-up. It’s so freeing that I don’t have to remove make-up at the end of the day. It’s too much work at the end of a workday especially. Plus having to tidy up the kitchen? It’s too much.

Here, I would add watching TV. These days, there are more TV ads than actual TV shows… The content is not really worth the time. Plus they sell a lot of products that are not safe. For example, cup noodles or readymade sauces that help the mother cook quickly coming home from work.
