The BEST Disney dining experience was in March, 1982, at King Stefan's dining hall. It was magical. We made our reservations THAT MORNING as we walked through the castle; returned in the evening after a thunderstorm and a cold front went through, in our damp and bedraggled shorts and the sweatshirts we'd purchased that day to try to stay warm. I will admit to feeling out of place, with the folks coming in from the resorts all dressed up, but our waiter treated us like royalty just the same. We both had prime rib, which was outstanding. Still among my top 5 restaurant meals eaten anywhere. We didn't get back to WDW until 2019, and we made reservations at the Castle again...but it wasn't the same. The food was just ok, and, understandably, there was a lot of children chatter since it was now Cinderella's Royal Table. I will always remember that meal at King Stefan's as one of the high points of our vacation all those years ago.

I've always found that it's a nice to do table service restaurants for dinner. It's a way to take a break from the heat of the day and get some *nice* food. Plus when going with a large family group who can't always be together at all times in the park (it's just too hard) it's a nice way for everyone to catch up and spend time together.

@@adamjefferies1479 When I'm at a theme park I go hard to hit up all the rides I like. It's the only reason I go to parks. Sometimes I go from rope drop to park close with only the quick service meals and occasional snack for breaks. Most of the time when I'm at parks, the only time I sit is when I'm on a ride lol

So my friend and I were in Disney a few weeks before my parents were going to celebrate their birthdays. We ordered and had a cake delivered to them at the restaurant they ate at their first night. They were so surprised and loved it. It was so big for just the two of them they shared it.

It is a lounge/bar; why should it be welcoming to kids? Even in Disneyland, there needs to be some place where one can get drink and escape the kids.
@moppupaws
@moppupaws Ай бұрын
the "kids allowed at the bar" rule is just so the restaurants can have extra seating. theres plenty of places to go to escape the kids besides the bars/lounges. hell, disney literally has multiple daycare centers.

Best Disney Dining Ecperience? Easy, my wife and I splurged when we went 15 years ago and did the Chefs Table at Victoria & Alberts. It was more amazing then you can imagine. It was just the 2 of us in the middle of the kitchen. I was and still am in the Culinary Industry so my wife and I spent out time chatting up all the Chefs about what they were doing and where they had worked. At the time the Food and Wine Festival was also gogin on and the Head Chef used us as "Guinea Pigs" for some meals he was going to serve the Beef Council and wanted to know which of 3 dishes we like best. At the end the Pastry Chef came to our table with this huge array of Chocolates and sepnt like 5 minutes naming them all and asked if we wanted to take any home, we were like "They all sound so good. Can we take them all?" She boxed them all up with a literal bow! It was an amazing experience and my wife and I still talk about it to this day. We have looked into repeating it, but back then was 850 and that included the wine and wound up paying 1000 with tip, which was expensive enough but now it would be around 1500 with tip!

My favorite Disney dining experience was Takumi-Tei before the pandemic closure. You could order a la carte. I had an appetizer and entree and glass of delicious sake for $100, including tax and tip. I ate solo and was treated like a queen. It was fabulous! I’m sad that they did not resume this menu upon reopening.

For off-brand dining, the Rain-forest Cafe was one of my favorites to go to. LOVED the smokey bones baby-back ribs! As far as in-the-bubble options, I'm very fond of the Plaza -- they make GREAT milkshakes and their meatloaf plate is to DIE for! -- but for quick service, I traditionally stop at Cosmic Ray's for my early lunch burger and fries. For overall dining theme and experience, The Hoop-De-Doo Review over at Fort Wilderness is a grand piec of nostalgia with me. I've never had a bad service at any of these locations, though I will say that I'm dying to go back to the World Showcase to check out several of the restaurants that I haven't seen yet.

There never was a question for me - the best thing I went to disney for was Broadway at the TOP = at the top of the contemporary for a long while at disney. It was the big night out we dressed well -and the food was superior too and it was the first EXPENSIVE Disney repast as well but even if I did not stay at DIsney - I always had a reservation for Disney at the TOP - ALAS eventually the BAND retired and they put the god awful California Grill up there.

Pardon my DVC bias here... but Olivia's at Old Key West is my favorite restaurant, even though they took the meatloaf off of its menu, it's such a calm, comforting place with great meals. Furthermore, because it is rather calm and somewhat quiet.. if you have anyone in your family or group on the autism spectrum or with hypersensitivity issues, it's a pretty safe place to sit and eat. (Plus, OKW is my home resort so it's great for walking off the calories afterward.) This is a wonderful video and very much appreciated. Much respect.

San Angel is pronounced "an-jell" not "an-hell", in Spanish "J" is pronounced like the English "H", but "G" is basically the same in both languages. Think of Los Angeles, that is a Spanish name that is not pronounced "Loss An-hell-us".
