That's why you have to give them plenty of things to destroy that you don't care about. The cores from toilet paper rolls work well for this, cut up and assembled in various ways. If you're going to glue them together, use something non-toxic like Elmer's craft glue (which is plenty strong).

My BudBird loved to ride on his RC truck, he would chuck empty sunflower seeds after I vacuumed, his favorite treat was popcorn and he loved to sit on my shoulder and ride in the car with me. He had only one cold and one injury in his entire life and lived for 17 years. I lost him in June 2015 due to a stroke and he died in my arms because he wanted me to hold him while he was dying and it broke my heart but he wanted me with him. Can we kiss them us there any harm to us
@r.sanders84484 жыл бұрын
NO......you should definitely *NOT* be "kissing" any bird directly on it's actual beak!! It wouldn't actually do any harm to *you* .... (unless, of course, you haven't yet fully earned the bird's total trust & loyalty in order for it to form a close bond to you- so it's entirely possible that trying to keep kissing it *before* you DO earn it's total trust is only going to result in it BITING or lunging at you bc it doesn't yet trust you enough or even know wtf you are trying to do to it!). But "kissing" any bird could most certainly be *VERY* potentially dangerous and harmful... and *DEADLY* ..... to the bird!! Humans just have wayyyyy too much natural bacteria and other gross crap in our mouths & on our teeth/tongues all the time (YES!!...even if you literally *just* brushed your teeth first)---- so every single time you "kiss" your bird directly *ON* it's beak or anywhere even *NEAR* it's beak...... you take a very high risk of transferring *VERY* harmful dangerous and fatal bacteria to that bird that could end up actually causing it's *DEATH* sooner or later because of it. If you absolutely just have NO self-control whatsoever and you feel the need that you just *must* kiss your bird sometimes....... then at the very least do the bird the courtesy of "kissing" it *ONLY* on the TOP OF IT'S HEAD (or better yet- doing a fake kissy-kissy type of kiss that doesn't actually touch the bird anywhere!!) where it *CAN'T* reach to touch the top of it's own head with it's beak to risk direct transfer of any of *your* mouth bacteria getting inside it's beak/nostrils/eyes.

That can actualy kill them. I know people that had their birds die like that. Don't ever leave any glass and bird unattended.

my mother and i just rescued two elderly cockatiels: fruitloop and pickles . they are on the road to recovery, as well as a happy new life here with us . i hope we can bring them back to their happy and cheery selves . all they’ve been doing is singing since they’ve gotten here . we are relieved that they are no longer in the state they were in before. they were never taken care of , and one actually has a tumor that was never treated . this video made me smile though ! i can’t wait to see what ours have in store for us :))

How are things going with your elderly cockatiels now? :)
@cassienikole8764 жыл бұрын
Feather Beautiful they’re doing great ! very vocal . they have this beautiful tune they sing every morning . we cannot handle them yet , and one has a tumor that may have to be removed by the vet as soon as we find one here around our new house . other than that, they are very healthy . their feathers are even growing back :)

Mine follows me all over the house, every minute she wants me around!! 🚶♀.......................🐤 So I have just got my baby 7 months ago🐤..time flies by, feels like I got her yesterday..she has never seen a cage since I got her from the store, she goes to my office, for parties, dinners, she goes to park on my shoulder, does her flights there, make her sit on different trees for hours..take her to pet shops so she can catch up with other cockatiel, who knows if she finds a bf one day 😉.. She has to touch me n sleep.. Next to me all night ❤ she is my love! Toothpick, earbuds n my laptop r her fav.. Pearls n gold she thinks belongs to her not me..fighty she gets if I try to take them..now I hv started buying jewelry for her separately💍⛓📿..my lil doll!

I can relate to your food is theirs. My cockatiel would always perch on the fridge and watch my mom cook. One time he flew onto the pan because he wanted a tortilla and burned himself lmao. He learned after that. He really loves a variety though. If you have a plate or bowl he flys to you to check out whats inside. Hes eaten vanilla ice cream, chicken, rice, soup, rice krispies was his favorite.
