Book of Eli. I wept at the end and that took me by surprise. Denzel Washington convinced me that someone could actually accomplish what his character did in that film by his acting performance. Powerful. I read once that he turned down Seven because the script was "too evil." I don't know Denzel Washington, but it seems to me that we're fortunate to have him on our planet.

That woman was right. Denzel does speak to millions, just perhaps not in the way he expected. He considered being a preacher - perhaps that's what he thought the prophecy was referring to - but being an actor actually allows him to reach more people. I haven't watched his movies but I saw a little bit of The Equalizer just a few days ago - not the whole movie, just a bit and I wasn't really paying attention - and my father pointed out that the dude has presence. He seems like he would be a fascinating person to talk to.
