How is it possible to get so many facts wrong? 1. People from Norway are called Norwegians, not Norsemen. 2. Most of the water in Norway does not come from springs or glaciers. Especially not in the south, seeing as glaciers are sparse/non-existent. 3. Norway does not sport sub-zero temperatures almost all year round. Yes, temperatures can drop to below 30 degrees celcius, but temperatures can go all the way up to +35 degrees in the summer. Winter does not last all year round. We have four very distinguishable seasons. 4. We, Norwegian citizens, do not get money directly from the state. The money is budgeted each year/term, and spent on welfare, infrastructure and such. 5. Norway had two referendums to decide wether Norway should or shouldn't join the EU, one in 1972 and one in 1994. They were both close calls, but Norway is now a part of the EEA, or EØS as it is called in Norwegian. The EEA is basically an agreement that grants all the benefits of the EU without the country needing to be in the EU. 6. Norway is expensive, yes, but a bottle of water costs below 2 USD. 7. I don't know if the narrator is suggesting at 9:04 that Norway uses Euros, but we don't. We use Norwegian Kroner, or NOK. 8. Tree cutting isn't illegal. You just need to own the land on which you choose to cut trees. There are probably more things that were wrong, but i couldn't be bothered to mention everything. This must be one of the worst videos I've seen, due to the blatant lack of research and fact-checking. EDIT 2 YEARS LATER: No one gives a fuck if you're Norwegian. Stop replying to my comment saying that you are, I'm Norwegian too.

So many mistakes: 2: minimum vague is around 18 $ not 25$. 4: There is not snow all year around, we have seasons. We dont have 192$ a person but 192 000 $ a person. 5: Fredriksen is worth more like 12 billion not 7,3. And his fleat is 3 largest. 6: Former member of royal family. 7: Nazi used viking symbols. Vikings 800 - 1100, nazi 1930 - 1945. So because Nazi used Viking symbols, Norwegians have problem using them today, because people dont know history. 11: This is so totaly wrong, we actually have the opposite problem. Norwegian salary is so high so its not profitable to cut down the forest. Forrest have increased almost 50% last 100 years. 12: We want to be a zero emission in future, but we are far far away from being that. Maybe we will be able in the future. 14: Germany was very successful in taking Scandinavia, Denmark to 3 hours and Norway took just 2 weeks. Seriously King Haakon didnt took Norway back from Germany with help off England. Hitler killed him self because he was surrounded by Russians. And the war was over. You should be able to better then this.

This is a very poorly researced video. Very poorly indeed. 1. Water from glaciers isn't particularly wise to drink. Que word: Microbes. Thus, none of the water exported from this country comes from such a csource, nor do we Norwegians drink it. We don't want salmonella in our bodies, or anybody elses bodies, now do we... 2. Norsemen don't go ANYWHERE to buy their booze. Why? Because norsemen haven't been around since around the time when William conquered England in 1066. We're in 2018, unless you've noticed. We're Norwegians, thank you very much, and yes, we do go to to our neighbouring countries for cheaper booze and fags. 4. Most of our population does not live in Oslo. Currently, there are approx. 5,3 million of us, and Oslo has approx. 650 000 inhabitants. That's only a bit over one tenth, unless the basic rules of mathematics has changeg dramatically over night... Oh, and it's called The North Sea, NOT The "Northern" Sea... 5. Jon Fredriksen isn't technically a Norwegian anymore, as he currently is a citizen of Cyprus... 6. Who the on earth takes anything that comes out of Ari Behn's mouth seriously, if I may be so bold to ask... 7. The only nazi symbol worth its salt that I know of, is the svastika. I couldn't see any of those here. Could you? Those sweaters had some rune symbols on it... So what!!! 8. Tysfjord Municipality is neither all of northern Norway, nor all of Sampi. And that's the nicest thing I can bring myself to say about your point no. 7. 11. Huhh?! I live in Hedmark County, and we have a thriving forestry industry here. Six long timber trains pass through our district daily, for Pete's sake... I have NO IDEA where this nonsense comes from! And those were only the ones I was able to suss out. Better luck next time!

Good post, Innserspace100, but your first point is ONLY true if we're talking about unfiltered glacial water. In fact, we drink quite a lot of the stuff, filtered. And we export it. Ever heard about Olden? That's just one of the brands, there are more.

Exactly, it's like saying that Hindus or Buddhists who display their swastikas are using Nazi symbols. No, the Nazis corrupted beautiful culturally important symbols from other people for their own uses. If society is going to let Hitler win the ownership rights over the symbols that belong to other people by not allowing people to use and be proud of their own symbols then we are losing to Hitler. Let those who were robbed of their cultural property take back what is theirs by promoting the true and original meanings of their symbols in order to take back the reigns of their own cultural property and intangible cultural heritage.

I think this goes for mass tree cutting. You cannot cut down every tree in an area, you have to leave some standing to secure the forests from deforestation. I did not get this memo either, so i think that this is what they are trying to say 😜

The rules for Tree cutting is very strict and the government (kommunale leder for skogbruk) decides where and how large the area shall be depending on animals and tree sorts. However, the land is often owned by farmers, then the farmers can choose whether or not they want to cut down an area. Except when it is a peaced area. A lot of regulations but not banned:)

The funny thing is that the viking helmets as everybody knows them today (you know, those helmets with horns) were a German invention. They were designed for the costumes of a Wagner opera. Before there were never any pictures of Vikings with horns on their helmets, and this for a simple reason: they never had such helmets. So if the Nazis used what we today know as viking helmets, it's ok, because it was an all German thing.

Id say if anything you will spend around £1 - £3 extra per item, which means if your buying your weekly groceries it will add like £20+ to the sum of your bill. Thou to be honest the two shops in my area didn't keep a large variety of goods so my spending was limited. 100% would visit again cos MY GOD it's so puurdy!

No. Norway did NOT have a nazi symbol on the sweathers. The nazis appropriated a norse symbol in their symbolism.

May I ask that if I’m a tourist from Asia planning solo travel to Norway without any debit or credit cards , just cash , would I be able to find some cafe that accept cash and able to ride bus using cash ?
@glacieractivity
@glacieractivity Жыл бұрын
I would not recoment that. Norway is largely cash-less. I guess you can work around it, but it will be extra work. A basic debit VISA card will make life easier since everyone will accept that. (Especially after covid, one is generally advised to not hand over cash).

@@ReymarChua Tree cutting isn't illegal, but regulated. The clothes didn't have nazi symbols, it's Rune letters which dates back to the vikings...and Ari Behn is a compulsive liar that nobody takes seriously for a second.

The reason why Ikea uses Norwegian place names for stuff has to be that the first Ikea outside of Sweden was built just outside Oslo in the sixties. It's still there on the same place, though I doubt Ingmar Kamprad would recognize the place today.

Really? Then is the swastika a nazi symbol? Or the Iron Cross? Or the Federal Eagle? All of them have history stretching a loong time before the Nazi's used them.
