I actually have a friend from Norway, and he moved to the U.S. and it wasn’t a few weeks ago, that I met him again for the first time in like 3 years, because the last time we saw each other we would just play Halo together all the time. And I’ve been talking to him since. Norway went from Vikings, to really nice and calm people.

@LinniC93
@LinniC93 3 жыл бұрын
@@amaliehoelwagle8154 Um, people don't "die all the time" due to avalanches... There _was_ a horrific avalanche in Longyearbyen in December 2015, which tragically killed two people (a man and a little girl). Other than that, accidents do happen, yes, but mostly with people travelling out in the wilderness. And even then, people don't "die all the time".
@LinniC93

I mean, noone will be punished for dying, but you can't be buried there because of permafrost. And people are not allowed to live there unless they work. So if you retire you have to move back to mainland Norway.

Also, I was a finalist to be a cast member on the “Alt for Norge” tv show for Season 9. It didn’t work out because I’m in college and it’s hard to schedule around that... but who knows... I could always possibly be a future contestant; the directors liked me and have wanted me to keep in touch with them until I graduate. Thanks for reading my long comment, I appreciate it. SKÅL! 🇳🇴💕♥️

There is a funfact about the relationship between Nepal and Norway that should be mentioned. Due to the preservation of the mountains, it's not really allowed to drive heavy machinery up the mountains. Since people (tourists?) want to go to the top of mountains, Sherpas from Nepal are payed to build stairs up various mountains to make it easier to access. The stones are either air lifted with a helicopter, and moved slightly, or carried up. There are a lot of stone stairs that are not made by the sherpas obviously, but it's still a fun fact. So you can come to Norway and just walk a long ass staircase up a mountain.

Best song in Eurovision... 3 totally different voices and nice rhythm and lyrics. So disappointed the Jury gave such a low amount of points

Two other small corrections: 15:30 The constitution was signed before the Swedish union began. However, the swedes let us keep it. 18:30 Spoken Swedish is closer to spoken Norwegian. Written Danish is closer to written Norwegian, as it resembles old Norwegian in many ways. At least in "Bokmål" which is the most used written language. Overall a really well made video. Thanks to Geography Now for all the work you put into this! :)

It’s important to all non-NATO countries in Europe, Ireland and Switzerland too, passionately neutral.

@@daraocadhain2835 Its hard to be neutral on the topic of freedom vs communism, but whatever.

You should have included Niels Henrik Abel as one of their great luminaries. He's a great mathematician.
