I have a 3D printer called the Ender 3. I had a part break on my document scanner, replacement part cost $275! I went into TinkerCAD and designed the part and for less then a dollar printed the part. Same thing with my Jeep. The cargo cover handle broke, replacement cost $125, again designed it in TinkerCAD and printed a new one! My 3D printer cost $285, has already paid for itself!

I own a printer and use 5 printers. I get designs online and make my own when nessecary. I don't think there is any question of it, 3d printing is amazing and the future. I do have to clarify a point you made though, you mentioned that 3d will take over manufacturing. Well, that's not really true. 3d printing is good for prototypes and single items. Mass production is something that 3d printing is staying away from and probably will stay away from for a really long time. Doing mass production with 3d printing is just inefficient and expensive. Injection molding is what mass production uses now and it's allot cheaper that 3d printing could ever be. Great points about how amazing 3d printing is though.

3D printing is an industry people are taking for granted thinking that it's an infant industry and less practical. But they're wrong this will be the future, you will no longer go the grocery store but printing everything in your kitchen. All in All the opportunities are coming soon.

@girishradhakrishnan2699
@girishradhakrishnan2699 5 жыл бұрын
As an Engineering I disagree with you the term "Less practical" and "this is not going to be future". You are going to buy 3D printed finished product in future (There will be at-least one 3D printed product in your home) An average person is not going to print his tools at kitchen but you will buy it from a company. 3D printing is already well developed ( and developing to next level) in tech industry, creating moving parts or just making a box for a finished product with injection molding (The mold container) costs around an Iphone to develop. If the box is 3D printed it costs just couple of bucks and if the dimensions of the product ended wrong (with injection molding) better luck you can spend your kidney for another mold.

Here is a list of companies that are quite big in the 3d printing hobby and industry. -Creality has been known for making high-quality printers, despite being Chinese clones. Their most notable version is the Ender 3, which has taken the market for budget 3d printers by storm. -Prusa is by far the most well known name in the hobby community. They are known for selling printers that “just work”; reliable and durable. As a small bonus, they also include gummy bears in the package when you order a 3d printer from them. Lulzbot printers, although notably more expensive, are quite durable. They’re best known for their TAZ 6 model. -Resin 3d printers are known for producing high-detailed products. The two most popular on the market are the Anycubic Photon and the Elegoo Mars. -MarkForged is a professional 3d printer company that produces 3d printers capable of printing metal/carbon-fiber parts. Some teams in the TV show BattleBots have even used parts printed by their printers.
