great video. The problem with ek’s front distro plate is that it does not allow enough clearance for fans to be mounted in front of the side mount. If you want fans in that position you’ll need to install them in the back side of the chamber, which will work fine but imo doesn’t look as good
@STechV
@STechV 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely correct. I completely forgot to mention that in the video. Thanks a lot for highlighting it. When you mount the fans in the backside, you won't be able to get the max out of the ARGB effects. But, no effect on the airflow.

I've build in the same case. Loving it. Just air cooled for now, but will design a custom loop later down the road. A couple of things to point out from your build. Some are just nit-picking. 1. I know you addressed this a little, but the air you have coming into the case from the bottom is still going to be heated by the radiator a bit and then being pumped into the case. Not the best start for air flow. I'd have installed the front distribution plate you talked about and had the second rad also pushing out but from the back. Then just have 3 fans on the bottom pulling cold air in. 2. You should also remove the dust filter from the top as it restricts the air being pushed through the top radiator and isn't needed as the air is being push out, not pulled in. 3. Great tip in removing one of the drive bays. I've done this too. For as much room as there is in the back, having more space for cables is always good. I have 10 rgb fans, so 20 cables, 2 controllers and one hub needed to go somewhere. 4. Regarding the front rgb strip. I have an Asus Strix mb and at first couldn't get it controlled through that. I have most of my fans controlled through Corsair icue. To get the front strip to work in icue, I had to get a customs cable adapter and program it as 3x10 rgb strips. Works like a charm. Great video.

Thank you for watching and the comment too. Really appreciate. 1. I already purchases my G1 distro plate before knowing about the front distro plate. And, it's not that easy to setup side back radiator. It has very limited space and very low headroom for tubing. But, it's be nice. And, the bottom radiator doesn't generate much heat. So, I'm still OK with pulling air through it for now. Worst case, I can add the back case fan for extra fresh air. 2. That I can agree. I let it be there as my temps were still OK. 3. Yeah. I also have two fan hubs and two ARGB hubs. Both are stick to the back cable concealing ( and extra HDD ) panel. It's pretty good and organized, but I've to remove all the cables if I wanna remove that panel 4. Yeah. casing's RGB controller circuit has extra port for ARGB connection. If you can get the adapter sorted, you can easily use it. Cheers,

@@file1man don't know if I'm allowed to share links, so I'll just tell you. Search ebay for "Corsair RGB to Standard ARGB 3-pin 5V Adapter (MALE)", for lighting node Pro and commander Pro. Connect it from the cable coming off the control box inside the case, to (in my case) the commander Pro. In ique, set it up as 3 x 10 led strip. Then set the profile up to be something easily distinguishable and press the cycle profiles button on the from of the case until you see the profile you set up. Job done.

@Sinister [GD] I think the size doesn't match with the Lian Li O11D XL. So, I don't recommend to go with it.

@STechV 3 жыл бұрын
@@tomfoolery3037 You're welcome. And yes, you can flip the distro plate 180 degree and it'll work. BUT, I don't recommend to do that, as it'll be harder to fill the reservoir without letting air goes inside the loop and even during the long run, it has higher chance of entering more air bubbles to the loop.

Any solution to cooling the hard drive caddy's at the back?
@STechV
@STechV 3 жыл бұрын
These is not proper solution, but you can remove one HDD bay unit and install a Noctua 80mm fan(s) in the back. Fans size is not 100% sure, but Noctua has 120, 92, 80 , 60 and 40 mm fans. So definitely one of them would fit.

That's true. It'd be better if there a ventilation method available for back side chamber. And I've a SATA HDD installed there. Will let you know the temps.

@@STechV sorry maybe a typo or two. My question is about the water block on the back of the case. I wanted to know what fittings you need to have to fit it. Ie what tube and valve fittings. I want to use the corsair hydro x 14mm hard piping with all the corsair water stuff however thier range is a bit boring and doesn't have alot. So I wanted to ask if this water block you have used could fit a corsair hydro x water build. I've done a water build before so am unsure on how the sizing works with the piping/tubing fittings. Hope thats abut more clear.

Awesome video I'm trying to do a similar build it just looks so good but I have one question in the first video you used a slim coolstream radiator in the bottom and a pe 360 in the top, my question is do you now recommend a pe 360 coolstream triple in the bottom and a xe360 coolstream triple in the top or should I use both pe 360s ? Thank you sorry if this is confusing !
@STechV
@STechV 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. And apologies for the confusion. I do recommends PE360 (triple) for both top and bottom (If you're planning to have Lian Li vertical GPU kit). Else, you can have XE360 (triple) on bottom with push-pull fans.

Is there enough clearance to do push/pull on top with 25mm(fan)+38mm(PE rad)+15mm(slim fan)? Would adding a 25mm(fan)+60mm(XE rad)+25mm(fan) on the bottom be good or overkill for a 3090+5950x (light to medium OC)? Thanks! Subbed
@STechV
@STechV 3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can. But it'll be too close to CPU power connectors. But,with good static pressure fans (e.g. EK Vardar), you can opt out from the push-pull setup. 3090+5950x will generate around 600W heat with medium OC. So, 2 x PE360 (500W) are more than sufficient for you setup. XE360 itself can provide up to 668W cooling power which is a overkill for your setup.

Just a tip as you said you are waiting for a 3000 series GPU that have PCIe 4.0, just check your riser cable is suitable for PCIe 4.0, as i have seen some youtube videos off problems with vertical GPU 4.0 riser cables working and not working, just something that can be easily overlooked. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gajJcnlrjc-LmK8

There are PCIe 4.0 riser cables available in the market now. But, It's not mandatory as my motherboard still supports only PCIe 3. So, it doesn't matter even my riser cable supports only PCIe 3.

Removing the pump from the distro plate will void the pump seal warranty.
@STechV
@STechV 3 жыл бұрын
I think it's same as for waterblocks. Breaking the seal will void the leak-free guarantee. "The warranty is not rendered void on dis-assembly of the water block, but the customer loses the EK leak-free guarantee which comes with a factory tested water block"
