SUMMARY:
-Be sure to dry all the damp areas to prevent fungus growth from ruining the inside of your car. Do the same before winter hits so that ice doesn’t form in wet spots.
-To keep it from frying your fingers, turn the wheel 180 degrees before you leave the car.
-Put an insulated drink sleeve over your gear lever, and you’re good. If you don’t have one of those, you can just spray it with some water to cool it down.
-To solve this stinky air problem, tape a dryer sheet onto the air conditioning vents.
-Let the engine warm up for about 30 seconds before you take off even in the summer to give oil enough time to warm up.
-If you're driving slowly, it's better to open the windows instead of turning on the AC. It burns a lot of gas at low speeds because it runs at full capacity while the engine is going at low revs.
-If you hear air hiss through the gas cap when you open it - don't panic. It happens for two reasons. First, as you're driving, fuel gets pumped out of the tank, but no air enters the vacant space. The second reason is the opposite - when your car has been sitting for a while, gas vapors accumulate inside the tank.
-Just put a block of ice on the floorboards under the vent if your AC isn't blowing out cold enough air for your liking.
-Instead of packing a cooler with you, simply use your glove box! There’s a little lid inside and when you turn it around, it opens a cool air outlet.
-Don’t forget your mirrors are made of glass and can easily break if you get in an accident. Play it safe and just close them before you take off.
-The intense heat from the sun can melt just about anything, the battery can catch on fire, and the entire car can go up in flames, so don't leave anything on the dashboard.
-Never park your vehicle under trees in bloom. And that’s because in the summer, many of them produce juice, resin, and sticky fruit and berry grains that can land directly on your car.
-Cover the vehicle with a few coats of polish at the beginning of summer to protect it from insects, those tree juice stains, and asphalt stains.
-Check the overflow reservoir between flushes to make sure there’s enough liquid in the coolant. And never take off the radiator cap while the engine is still hot!
-Keep an emergency kit inside your vehicle. It should have water, some non-perishable foods, a first aid kit, basic tools, road flares, jumper cables, and a flashlight.
-If you're stuck in a traffic jam and it's getting too hot inside your car, use a mini battery-powered fan.

I don't know anyone who drives a Bentley.and besides if you could afford to drive a Bentley why worry about running the A/C, besides the 12 cylinder engine will drink enough gas long before the A/ C does.

In Phoenix, use your shirt or skirt hem to touch your door handle and open it. Reach in and start your car, open the windows, and turn your a/c on full blast. Come back 10 minutes later when the seat, steering wheel, seatbelt, and shifter are cooled down. Never leave anything that can melt (CDs) or explode (aerosols) in your vehicle. Bottled water will be too hot to drink, but your dash is the right place to keep your take out meal piping hot. And those M&Ms? They'll melt in your hand, in the bag, and on your floor! 😉

It's illegal in my country (United Kingdom) to leave your car running unattended. I don't know about other jurisdictions, but what I am sure is that in any country (probably except Saudi Arabia because they punish thieves by cutting their hands off) your car *WILL* get stolen if left unattended with the engine running, so when you come back 10 minutes later there won't even be a car.

The funky smell can be solved using Ozium on the cabin air filter. The fact people will recirculate the AC to cool off in the summer. You basically are recirculating the moisture from your body and it leaves bacteria Ozium kills that bacteria and leaves a nice smell. Just use it sparingly. It’s a strong air sanitizer, not air freshener.

How to protect your car from the heat 1 buy a dash mat 2 buy window shades 3 tint the windows 4 park if you can in the shade 5 use the air recirculation feature instead of the AC. It will only turn on the AC at lower speeds but will circulate the air from outside into the cabin at high speeds 6 just turn on the blower motor with no AC on the air moving will also help cool you down without turning on the AC
@KingAdrock420
@KingAdrock420 4 жыл бұрын
That's not quite what recirculate means. When you turn on the recirculate function it pulls air from _inside_ the car rather than outside. If you've already been running the AC then this air is already cold, and hence easier on the AC system. So don't turn it on right when you get in the car, only once the inside of the car is already cool. It's also a useful function to turn on if you're in very dusty conditions, as it saves your cabin air filter from being clogged up with dirt. Note some cars call it "recirculate", while some call it "Max AC". But it's the same thing.

FYI, windows tint could only slow the heating process in your car, but the heat would eventually increase to the same level as non-tinted car. It just takes longer to heat the car in other words.
@ryans413
@ryans413 5 ай бұрын
@@KingAdrock420 that’s right but you don’t want to keep that on for too long or else it’ll get too cold and can freeze up the evaporator coil. There’s a reason most of the HVAC setting allow fresh air in to work it keeps the evaporator coil from freezing up. The heating works the same way it allows cool outside air to circulate in so the windows don’t fog up. If you put the heating on max recirculating then all the windows fog up. Same thing with the defroster it turns on the AC to dry the air. The way to use the AC is to open the window let the hot air exit close the windows but the AC on full max with the recirculation then once it’s cold turn off recirculation and turn it to fresh air when it gets warm again flick it back to recirculating that way the evaporator won’t freeze. Lots of new cars will cycle the compressor on and off to prevent this most cars don’t do this so the evaporator freezes and you lose air flow out the vests keeping it on fresh air keeps it cold still but also keeps the evaporator from freezing. This also helps dry up the condensation water that bad smell lots of people get in their cars is because they run the AC on full max with recirculation and then park and shut off their cars leading to water sitting and causing mold and smells.
@KingAdrock420
@KingAdrock420 5 ай бұрын
@@ryans413 First off I have to say… did it really take you THREE YEARS to respond? I'm not at all trying to make fun of you, but I can't help but find that pretty funny. A lot of what you say is correct, especially about using recirculate on heat. The heater in a normal combustion engine car uses waste heat, so recirculate doesn’t really save much energy; and YES it will fog up your windows. However note that even on recirculate there is always some fresh air introduced, if for no other reason than otherwise people would eventually asphyxiate due to breathing all the oxygen. Generally the best way to avoid water and mold on your evaporator is before turning off the engine, turn off AC and run the fan until the blowing air is the same temp as the ambient air. This warms up the evaporator, which otherwise would stay cold (and WET) for some time until it eventually warms up just by ambient air.
@ryans413
@ryans413 5 ай бұрын
@@KingAdrock420 wrong on recirculation all fresh air is cut off. Most cars by the wipers you see a vent to the outside usually in the passenger side when recirculation is on a flap blocks that vent no air is getting in unless your car has bad weather stripping.

while parking in summer, it is wise to keep 1/2 cm gaps in each window, rather than closing it completely. This reduces the heat inside the car. I have personally been trying this for 7 years now.
