@@LokkPik hmm... he uses a bunch of different tools like a fighter, and fights with his fists like a monk, so maybe a fighter/monk multiclass? Or maybe just purely monk, since Monks can use throwing darts and batterangs are close enough (plus he doesn't wear armour)

Never underestimate a small, adorable-looking character. My husband's first character was a gnome. His class was a bloodrager (Pathfinder), so he'd morph into a giant monster, and he dealt scary amounts of damage. It was hilarious. 😂

Hmm you know what, yer' hubby was and still is a genius for that combination. I've played a mimic (5E, homebrewd due to some wishes from our DM back then.)... Imagen how many who tried to get something shiny, only to have their arm fully wrapped up and acid burning through their armored gloves. Ahhh thos were the days!

My favorite character intro was for my paladin, who came screaming down out of the sky on his pet wyvern, running _very_ late for an important meeting with his order. (With his barbarian friend also riding along, and being a backseat driver.) My DM did such a good job describing that scene. 🤣

Indeed. My tiefling warlock is from a family of merchants, but due to the natural influence of his abyssal heritage he was often in fights or some kind of trouble. One day things went too far and had to leave the town that looked down upon him (note parents are indeed alive). That is when he met his patron and devoted himself as a hexblade with promises of overcoming his abyssal blood.

My character tend to have a very interesting backstory, commonly some kind of tragedy or whatever, truly some pretty cool stuff and then the character name would just be as generic as possible. Seriously a character I've playing in an upcoming game is called Rob, a Halfling druid that got lost in the forest and after many years became the protector of the very forest he got lost in.

My current character is a wood elf rogue who joined a band of highwaymen out of boredom. The band was ambushed by guards and my character fled to a different kingdom, just in case someone talked. As a result, he is a rogue who refuses to join the local thieves' guild, and will not steal. He styles himself a 'consulting detective'. - Oh, and his parents and sibling are alive and well as far as he knows.

We did a dragonlance campaign back in the day. Everyone expected me to play a half elven ranger. The DM and I kept what I was playing really quiet. The party is introduced at the Inn except my character. Everyone is looking around wondering what I’m playing. DM: there is a large commotion outside of the inn near the caravan you have been hired to protect. They rush outside to see a Kinder standing on a barrel taunting the crowd that has surrounded him. Me: I’m the Kinder😂😂😂😂

We recently had a player that got us to suggest aspects of his character and then rolled to decide which. He knew the type of sorcerer he wanted but nothing else (homebrew death sorcerer). We didn't know this. He ended up as Goblin inventor that grew up in the feywild.
