I have a White German Shepherd called Bellissima. She checks on me very often while I'm working on my computer. At first, I figured may be she wants food or wants to go out. But when this happened outside such needs, I began to wonder about her conduct. One night, I woke up in the middle of the night, and noticed that she walked up the stairs and was sitting next to my bed. I assumed she needed to go out urgently, so I took her out for walk. But after the walk, she still came up to the second floor and sat next to my bad. Then, I realized that I had neglected to take my medication that night, and she must have been aware that something was wrong. And the same thing happened on other occasions, and I learned to appreciate her conduct. From my viewpoint, she is the smartest and the most beautiful dog I have ever seen. There is a picture of her on my channel.

That beautiful soul, stayed by my side when I was sick, and whenever I was going through my long stretch of manic depression and I wouldn't/couldn't bring myself to get out of bed for literally days to weeks on end, My Maggie stayed right my my side and never once left me!!! I never knew what to call it … My wife or I would stand facing him, and with hands held out, we’d playfully “lunge” at him … He’d then run from room to room, until he saw the other of us, who’d then lunge back, and he’d quickly reverse himself. It was hysterical and he LOVED it … It’s been 10 years since he passed at AGE 18, and we miss him every day. No matter what family difficulties we had, he was a constant joy in our lives.

She is a pint sized little madam most days and thinks she owns me and that I will pander to her every whim, I don't so I guess its her ways of protesting to ignore me 50% of the time. On the plus side having a JR is never dull they are full of bounce energy and character she makes me smile and she is fearless she will approach a dog ten times her size without flinching when I think the other dog could eat her for a snack.

It’s also amazing how they all have distinct personalities, and all have relationships with each other. Even though some of the animals are seen to be predators and some are seen to be prey… they are able to share a farm with each other without any threatening behavior. I spent my life (first 50 years) in the public eye… but retired with animals where I have no visible neighbors. I unashamedly prefer the animals.

What if your new puppy eats shoes, lamp cords, dinning room chair, basically any cord in reach/chews,was not now so much pooping& peeing in house instead /even before/after going outside.I’ve never had a animal that is so disobedient im really nice.My approach to the problem was taking him out every 1/2hour potty break, giving him time out in the bathroom(he likes to eat toilet paper so i have to put everything he can crew/eat out of reach)15min & repeat everytime he’s done something bad.(which was a lot- but it worked, now when he’s naughty i just ask him if he needs time out-he thinks about it @ starts behaving mostly)When i see him trying to pee on something inside or poop- i put him outside to potty-& wait & watch for him to go.He like to escape the back/front yards anytime he can-i’ve had to ask the neighbors for help trying to catch him.(he thinks it’s a game.)Once he was gone for @15 hrs i was asking everyone to help find him-a neighbor way down the street took him in over night & reported to the pound thats how my son found him thank god i got him the next day & he was happy to see me.But he keeps getting out & i have to watch him the whole time.I’ve been trying very hard to be a good mom-just need advice on how to care for for a puppy that doesn’t want to listen to anyone but himself at 9 months.anyone else going through this???

We will be getting an electric invisible fence for ours. My son lets her run the yard, in circles till she is worn out. It is a game to them! I tie her up outside, enough to move around, plus she digs holes! They are at a curious stage 6 months up. Curious George stage! She gets timed out if she chews, something other than a toy! We put her treats in a toy made for treats, that keeps them occupied. We found a good ball to throw and she brings it back . Chewing is hard to break, I say owe, no that hurts. She stops. One to two word commands. Toddler stage, it takes patience and a lot of love/ treats!

What kind of dog do you have? Read up on the breed, here on the Internet. That should help

Check with your vet or local park district to get a recommendation for a dog trainer, and have he/she watch how you interact and work with/correct your dog. You have listed several problems, and it sounds like something systemic is going on. Also, is your dog kennel-trained, e.g., put in a kennel when sleeping, resting, or if you are away? That helps keep them out of trouble when they are not under your direct observation; also they are quite reluctant to defecate or urinate in their "lair" (kennel) and kennel training helps with housebreaking. Electric fences were mentioned in another comment... they work but the dog needs to become familiar with an electric correction collar (some folks call them "shock collars")... they need to understand what the vibration/sound means as they approach the "invisible fence" else once they run though that "barrier" -- even though they get a shock -- they will not cross that barrier again to come back home. Good luck. ETA: some other thoughts... 1) Grannick's 'Bitter Apple' helps discourage chewing... we've used it for many years, for many, many pups, to discourage chewing, and 2) does your dog get sufficient exercise every day... I mean let him run and romp until he is exhausted?

I rarely get face licks these days but both dogs love to sniff my breath to see what I've been eating 😁
