Just a helpful FYI. Wood pellets from the feed store that are used for horse bedding work much better than kitty litter as well as smell is much better and less messy. Cheaper too

Very informative. I saved the video so that I can review it with my husband when we buy and live in a Class C RV. Husband is 80 and I’m in my 70th year. This is our plan, buy the Class C vehicle and use it as our home. A big plan, probably one that is a year in the making, but we’re having fun planning and prepping. Cheers!

We have been rving for 27 years. Full time the last 3 yrs. I like that you repeat for everyone to find there own rv path. We are on our second diesel pusher. Which is a lot different camping than a camper van or smaller rig. We rarely boondock. We did when we were younger. We are members of harvest host and their sister group boondockers. With boondocks you frequently have water and electric. Our camping style is a lot different now than when we first started. Safe travels.

A good mod is a Maxx Air fan. Not so much the fan but the cover. it allows you to use your fan while it is raining. There are similar things, but you need something to let you use your fan in the rain. Also, we use the crap out of Harvest Hosts. We like to stay at breweries because they are open later. A lot of HH's close at 5pm so breweries allow a late arrival.

My only addition would be "keep it simple". Way less stress. I ask myself "how would Lewis and Clark handle this?.

The only thing I'll disagree with is the washer and drier in the RV. I really need it. I have very sensitive skin and have to use free and clear stuff. Residue left over from previous loads can make me break out. If I didn't really need them, I would rather have the space. I tend to overstock on pantry foods, spices, etc. That is my mistake. Agree big time about upgraded shocks and batteries. Boondocking is so much better than parks in my personal opinion. I like the peace and solitude over being around a bunch of other people.

Agree with most of this, especially the awning, my trailer has a manual one, and rarely use it since it's a pain to have to go out and manually retract every time there's even a threat of wind. One thing I do disagree on is having a Bluray player. I have an extensive collection including several series (they'e gotten way cheape since the 4K discs came out, especially on ebay) and it's super simple to pop one in without having to be connected to anything. My 40 inch tv has an energy saver mode and a headphone jack so I can use it off my inveter and it and the player draw very little actual current when boondocking.

Love your videos and they always hit so close to home for us!! We made the mistake of getting damn near all the RV memberships. We got Family Motorcoach, Good Sam, Passport America, Harvest Hosts/Boondocker's Welcome, and a couple others I can't remember. We kept Good Sam for the roadside assistance program and Harvest Hosts/Boondocker's Welcome. Other than that, we never used the other ones and they were so expensive. We had dropped Harvest Hosts/Boondocker's Welcome for about a month to see how we fared without it and after that month, we signed back up. The travel planner and the stays in such amazing places were just too good to pass! We're also a retired military couple so, we stay at the military Fam Camps a lot as well. Fam Camps are really nice if you have base access. The best ones off the top of my head are: 1. Desert Eagle @ Nellis AFB in lovely Las Vegas! Best one we've been to! 2. Apache Flats @ Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista, AZ 3. Bass Lake @ Wright Patterson AFB in Fairborn, Ohio

I love harvest host. But then they send offers to join the other memberships. I need to cancel boondockers welcome, the golf clubs, and a discount card. I travel from point A to B then stay for 13 weeks or longer. I like boondocking at a harvest host every other night en route. I took a free year membership to KOA. I won’t renew that one. Their sites are small. With 10% off a night does not justify a $30 annual fee. They do offer convenient locations right off the interstate though. But I prefer the slow country roads if I can.

the 3" lift kit and suspension upgrade completely transformed my Promaster from a vehicle I dreaded going over a speed bump to one I'm confident will make it on moderate forest roads. Very much worth it to me!

the only thing I disagree on is the washer and dryer, I am lost without them. However when ever I do boondock (which is seldom) I don't use them. I work on the road, and like the convenience of being able to do my laundry at leisure, be it after I get off work or a load here and there. My washer is only 0.1 cubic feet less than my first washing machine. I do my blankets, king size set of sheets and pillow cases in mine. I can do a good sized load of laundry. Other than that you are spot on

RE: sensor cleaning. Use Dawn Ultra about 1 cup per 30 gal and fill tank. Let soak over night-take a drive, drain. I found this will even clean a black water tank sensor. Best wishes

I enjoyed your video as usual. Like you said it depends on the type of camping you do and on what equipment you use. We have a small 17' travel trailer and dry camp anywhere from 5 days to 2 months at a time. I love my propane stove top to heat up my tea and oatmeal. We go though 1 or 2 20 lb. tanks in a season. Of coarse we have a cat to help keep us warm on cool nights. To help keep our blk. tank from clogging up we put the "T" paper in a separate sealed canister. That way we can buy what ever is on sale. I'm staying with the lead/acid batteries for the time being. I looked at the price of the lithium batteries and the changes to the charging system and it didn't make sense to change. I can recharge our batteries with our 100 w portable solar in a couple hrs. I'm told in really cold weather we'd have to bring our lithium batteries inside. I like to learn and see what people are using and see if it would work for us.

I 100% agree on the foldable or collapsible brooms and cheap vaccums! We ended up tossing our cheapo vac and replacing it with our Shark Pet Rotator from home storage and I kept my Ryobi 18v minivac with the powered brush. With a 22lb Mainecoon cat and a 110lb German Shepherd, all year is shedding season. Though I still punish and let myself suffer with the collapsible broom. I hate it so much but, put it away and ADD forget to buy another one until I have to use it again! LOL!! Though I do have a washer dryer in my rig and I use it at least once a week. I have a mental block from washing my undies in a public washer. I love my splendid washer and dryer 😄 the only thing that sucks is it vibrates the entire rig when it's spinning.

good points, but being from nevada myself, 4x4 and a bit more clearance both, not huge amount, is more important than many of the interior features.... for same price range.... a 4x4 cargo van would do me more good than a class b decked with everything for same price...... in some ways, in some ways not.... hard to say really... a 2wd can do alot if you know what you doing.... but you can install, add on this and ghetto version that, plastic cabinets and build your own bed things, shower outside to accopmplish same comfort, in a place a 2wd can not get too, or far more importantly, back out of..... i only have a normal 4 door car to camp out of, got my tent, little buddy heater, and can do out door shower as well, have not bought the enclosure yet, so would be in front of anybody who can see that far. but i can shower regardless.

Induction cooktops are great but only work when plugged in or running the generator. Our propane stove in the van works great when we don't want to drag out the other gear or it's raining.

I have induction. It runs from my 2000w inverter. Yeah, it draws a lot of power…but it isn’t running all the time. At 600w draw…it just isn’t a huge load for just 30 minutes to cook. If I need to be cooking a long time, then it goes into a solar oven. No propane, no shore power

Forget the adjustable water pressure regulator. The gauge will break. I spent the money and it broke when the temps went below freezing. I have met many others that had similar results. I now use the 50 psi.

All very sensible reflections :) Is your experience that of excessive use of propane while cooking? I use gas for cooking and heating but it’s the heating that chews through it. If I was to only use my 10kg gas bottle for cooking it lasts for months and months. It’s only when it gets to winter (and switching on the heater) that I need to refill it.

Our RV came with a WiFiRanger. Totally disagree that it’s a waste of money. We are not full-timers. If we were I would probably get Starlink, but I am very glad we have the WiFiRanger. Definitely boosts our signal. Use it anytime we are on park Wi-Fi.

FYI... Use dish soap for wish washers. Use about 1/4 cup with 20oz water mix and dump in tank. Works great. No smells. Always add water if not the soap will clog pipes.

Our motorhome has 5 awnings.. original to the coach.. they are the heavy canvas ones.. they werent used by the 1st owner at all.. of course we use them.. our gal is 23 yrs old.. i would be heartbroken if anything ever happened to them. Gonna be toughy to replace.. let's just say she doesn't even look like she is that old.. so i guess we got a true gem.. we love our RV❤

For water hose i have a black zero gravity for black tank and a blue one for fresh water, never mix them up. I also have a good surge protector and made a cable lock to lock it up to the post. The only back ups i have are plumbing connectors and a red and blue pex pipe. Have used it once. Good to have in case a connection blows. Thanks for all the info!!!!

We sold our home and bought a class A. In 5 months we have had so many live and learn moments. Glad we happened upon your channel because it has helped tons already. We also travel with 2 cats. Ours geek out every single time. Has your cats ever gotten used to it? We have been advised to give them benedryl. We did once and payed the price, cat spazzed and sliced leg open and drooled everywhere. So any advice on traveling with nervous animals?

There are some plug-in scent products that have been shown to be helpful for some cats (every animal is different and not everything works for everyone). Many cat hospitals use them with some good success. You can also speak with your veterinarian about prescriptions if they are so stressed that they're causing injuries to themselves. Best of luck

Some of your suggestions work fine in a bigger MH but in a small Class B carrying some of that stuff is impossible. Items like an adjustable water regulator takes too much space versus the cheaper one you showed and the same could be said with the your choice for the sewer hose. It doesn't compress to a small enough size and with all that hardware on the ends makes it difficult to put into a small cubby and a vacuum the size of the one you have would never work.

We have some wheat straw dishware as well. They absolutely work well and love that they are microwaveable.

Cooking uses a tiny amount of propane, especially compared to the furnace. All tanks have a vent and drains have traps or seals. If your smelling your tanks something is wrong. Cleaner for portable tank but not built in??

As for the BluRays, I'd suggest (especially if you have kids) getting a PlayStation or XBox instead. PS4, PS5, XBox One and XBox Series X all have BluRay players incorporated into them (as long as they have an optical disc slot, as some models like the XBox Series S do not). This way, you can make the console multi-purpose by having the option to watch movies, to stream TV shows and movies (they all come with various apps like Apple TV, Hulu, HBO Max, etc.) and also play video games. You can hook up a portable hard drive to store your media so you don't have to bring physical copies of discs with you. It saves space and still provides a ton of entertainment.

Love our washer/dryer. Use our propane cooktop. Prefer our regular dishes and glasses, none broken in two years. Paid a boatload for TT membership... down to about $15 a night averaging our costs, will keep going down each year. Agree on the toilet paper though 😂.

We have a thousand trails membership that we bought over 20 years ago and upgraded it when we went full time. We plan our trips to stay 85 % in a TT campground. It was expensive when we bought it and even more so now. However we have gotten our monies worth. But the membership not for everyone
