That's exactly what the Texans did in 2020, sending DeAndre Hopkins, along with a fourth-round pick, to the Cardinals for David Johnson, a second-round pick, and a fourth-round pick. Hopkins had amassed an impressive 315 receptions, 4,115 yards, and 31 touchdowns in those three seasons. The trade left many scratching their heads, especially considering Hopkins' value and the Texans' desperate need for offensive firepower. It was a jaw-dropping move that backfired spectacularly.

They traded several picks up to draft Trey Lance, he was terrible and they got saved my Mr. Irrelevant. They could have won those Superbowls with the picks they gave up to get Lance. It's a terrible trade and terrible pick

Even when the facts are correct he leaves a lot of additional information out. Idk if the stats on Hopkins are correct or not but I am not going to research it to confirm or deny it. I know Hopkins put up numbers and that’s the bottom line. The thing is he left out how this affected the Texans by having fans give up on the team and how even JJ Watt said adios to the Texans.

Elway won 2 Superbowls. Also don't think the 49ers were "set back" THAT BAD - by the Trey Lance move - it was a wasted pick in hindsight, sure but considering they were just in the Superbowl idk if I'd say they were "Set back," so much as just a wasted pick - but luckily they got incredible coaching and a guy named Purdy who saved them from completely taking the Lance thing on the chin even more outside just a "Well that was a waste and dumb decision by SF trading up & drafting Lance, huh?"
