playing a video game doesn't automatically mean its a waste of your life. every time someone says that it is it gives me a visceral reaction.
@RatinaTopHat-vn7vq2 ай бұрын
That's not the point of the video!
@RikaisanАй бұрын
@@RatinaTopHat-vn7vq It still was a very absurd comment, you only have one life and YOU decide how to live it, having fun and enjoying it your way is not wasting it.
@RatinaTopHat-vn7vqАй бұрын
@@RikaisanI think the issue here is that people assume that I meant something bad by this and am judging how other people spend their time. Subjectively, yes, I view my time playing this game as wasted time. But that doesn't mean that I haven't had some great memories playing this game and that the time people spend on it is worthless.

Hey dude, I came from reddit, very nice video! I have to say that this resonated with me quite a bit! Some of my experiences almost seem parallel to yours - Just like you, I started playing when I was 8-9 during beta 1.8 in 2011, and I'm 21 now. I tried to get my brother into the game, and I remember for the first few hours he intially disliked it lol. To this day, it's still a major way in which we connect, especially since he doesn't play many games and we live apart. It was also the game of which my friends and I bonded over in primary school. I didn't play factions often, but there was a towny server of whom I still talk to some of the people I played with today, despite it closing many years ago now. It's insane how much of our lives this game has taken up, and all of the great memories that have came with it. I'd be really interested to see how many hours I've accumulated in this game but given how much it probably is, perhaps it's better if I don't know😅Unfortunately, I've never really committed to a world as long as you have, as I tended to lose motivation after a while and I would create new ones. So, well done on keeping a world going for 8 years, it looks great!

Hey! Thank you for taking the time to write this comment :) I am glad you enjoyed. I am largely the same, most of my old worlds are lost to time, but I managed to piece a few together into this larger world which I sometimes come back to. Honestly, this video kinda reminded me of when I first started playing Minecraft. I started playing Minecraft back in 2011, when I got introduced to it by own brother. At the time, my brother was building a castle on Java version 1.0. Then I looked at the game that he was playing and I was thinking, "Man this is so cool. I want too play this." So I did. I first started off on Java edition on my Mothers old computer. (Which was kinda shitty for being a old laptop.) Then when I realize that Java was more laggy on a computer, I made a smart choice and switched over to Xbox 360 at the time in early 2012. And from there, memories were made on that version. From 2012-2018, I played a lot of Minecraft Xbox 360. Even during 2016-2017 when Minecart at the time was being proceed as a quote on quote, " kids game", I just ignored it, and continued on all the way up to 2018 when something big was happening. So you might be wondering, what happened in 2018 that was big so to say? Well, you see. During 2018, the Update Aquatic was being announced to Minecraft. But not only that, but Legacy Console edition aka Xbox 360 was also being discontinued by Mojang and Microsoft to create Bedrock edition. At the time I was shocked. Because I made so many memories on that version. So for Mojang and Microsoft to discontinue it, was pretty sad and depressing. So at the time, I debated with myself in my room about two choices. Should I ether, A: Move to Bedrock edition, or B: Should I stay on the Xbox 360? I thought long and hard about this choice. Because on one hand, I was going to be in an updated version of Minecraft and not on a discontinued version that was never going to get any new updates. But on the other hand, I couldn't just leave my old worlds behind. Because I made so many memories on those worlds. So, leaving them behind would feel like I lost something dear to me, as a result of the choice. So, with a heavy heart, I said my finale goodbyes to the old worlds before transferring to bedrock. And after that, I transferred in mid 2018, to 2019. Then from there, I fully switched to bedrock in that time. And from there I got used to Bedrock Minecraft. Where I continued to make new and lasting memories even after Xbox 360 has ended. So here we are today. Minecraft is turning 15 years old. And at the same time, I'm also celebrating the fact I played Minecraft for 13 years. That's right, 13 years. That is almost my entire life. But at the same time, It also feels so surreal. I don't know if it's obsession, or dedication that always attracts me to this game. Honestly, it might be both LOL. And god, the Golden age of Minecraft on KZbin. Man. That time period was so great! How I would describe Minecraft's golden age on KZbin from my perspective, Is kinda like an endless party. A party that just doesn't stop. But if your a new player that just started coming into the community recently through 2019-2024, then all I'm going to say to you is this. You should've been there. 2011-2015 was a great time in Minecraft's history. And at the same time, 2024 has been a good time for the game as well. Even tho there might be controversies or dramas in the community. At the end of the day, that doesn't matter at all. What matters is celebrating this games past, and it's eventual future as a game that lasts for a 100 years. And let me end this off here with a thank you. Thank you to Mojang, 4J Studios and you guys in the Minecraft community. Without you or this game, I wouldn't be anywhere today without any of you three to make this possible. Lets have another 15 years together. Sufi-

I appreciate the effort you put into making this video. Its cinematic concept is neat & quite simple but it goes into great depth to show how much you love the game. I would say it was quite enjoyable witnessing from your retrospective. You got my curiosity.

Great video! For the 15th anniversary, I revisited some of my very first world's, And the nostalgia trip made me feel all kinds of emotions, Sad because I will never be that young curious child with no care in the world, happy because I managed to preserve some parts of that childhood, some of which are 10+year old time capsules, I even found a 10 minute video of me playing in a flat creative world just messing around, as a kid would do, random stuff scattered everywhere! and i still have that world! I still play Minecraft, as a matter of fact, more than any other game combined, and even working on a Mega Cyberpunk city (which most probably i wont finish lol) and even managed to get my friend hooked on it to help me build it. And the fact Minecraft is more relevant than ever, and arguably more fun (at least in my opinion) is a testament to how great it is!
