Everything is fine if the train works last week ,end of May one of the trains broke down which caused us to turn around about hafe way into the trip . Of course we were reimbursed reimbursed

This does seem expensive, even by reference to the high fares from Preston, Newport or Cardiff Central to London Terminals.

Will be in Skagway first part of June and opting to buy tickets once we arrive. Are the trains full or can you find cars that are not crowded?

As of when we visited in July, they reserve the front car of the train for on-site ticket purchases. So there should always be tickets available, as long as you're flexible with the times you want to ride.

@@TheOnlySoloLadyTraveler We did it in 2012.....and if I remember.....sitting on the left hand side going up , gives you a better view! They don't turn the train around at the top, they move the engine from one end to the other, so you will have that better view on the way down also. Would you confirm, if this is how it worked on your ride???

On our route in July 2023 they had a track that led the train all the way around and we had a different view despite sitting in the same seat. But this may vary based on season/tracks/trains. Thanks for sharing your info-- that's so good to know! @@vstar1100classic
