Too bad the music ain't there no more. Overkill and many other bands kick Joey's version of Manowar these days. Manowar kills Lich King conquers💪💥🎸

Totally agree. Never experienced him in such a sane, humble, thoughtful and authentic fashion. Seems like he tricked us all with his embarrassing stage speeches and metal magazine interviews all the years😅
@TobyMathisAttorney Жыл бұрын
Thanks Carlo - Joey is thoughtful and articulate. No fluff - he just tells it as he sees it, which I appreciate.
@atelierXL997 ай бұрын
@@TheStenius I always saw him exactly as this great "king". Some of his speeches were simply not worthy of him, I think he did that because he thought it was expected of him and didn't realize himself that he had grown far beyond that

Met Joey in 1986 or so in Boston, in between shows (The Channel Club) they did two that day, I stayed for both. But I walked out back, he was sitting and playing his bass. We chatted, he signed the shirt I was wearing, and just a very friendly guy... I was a 20 year old ManOwaR fanatic, so it made my day... Still love the band almost 40 years later...

I've listened to Manowar for a long time. Joey absolutely hit the mark in describing what I got from the music. It gave strength to others to persevere through adversity. It's about personal strength in all ways, which is what matters in life. Fantastic interview.

Very insightful and relaxing to watch. I grew up with Manowar and this is probably the first time I hear DeMaio speaking normally instead of shouting about "true heavy metal" in the microphone. Glad to see a bit of what he's like off stage, without all the adrenaline. Thinking of it, most of the greats are like that in private. Thank you for posting this!

I enjoyed the interview very much. I really appreciate Joey being more humble as he getting older. I loved to hear his thoughts about everything and not just the the metal cliches about “true metal” and “f*ck the world” and so forth. Been a Manowar since 1992 (when I was 11 years old) looking forward to see the show in Sweden tomorrow.

In the begining they talk about the importance of practical experience towards the academic titles. Thomas Sowell said, that profesors have only 1% of the world knowledge. The rest comes from the usual, daily committements, business situations. The basic knowledge coming from usual people doing daily things should not be underestimated. Joey Demaio received academic titles and says about it in so humble way. He doesn’t have to, since he has so enormous musical experience. Better than profesors maybe knowing how to put music into notation. Another thing is, that in any business young people fall in love with a result they see in adults, not the process, that led to this result.

Honest word here: This band does not have many great songs even though they have so many albums. I only like Wheels of Fire and Fighting the world, and that is it. I wish Manowar were heavier & faster. I wish they made fast music like Nordjevel from Norway. June 21, 2023. USA.

What about "Kill with Power" by the way? But who is "they"? Since Ross has to leave, it's just a "One Man Show", - not putting out a single album since 12 yrs. - just 5 albums in the last 36 years (since they have been stopped beeing a Band) So "so many albums" is quite relative.
