The problem with penny stonks these days is that postage prices have increased so much that a card going from $1 to $5 basically makes you nothing unless you can move it in playsets (in the UK at least).

For those concerned about the 150 engravers, don't be. Its all wcq hype, the price will drop back closer to 100 within a week or so after the wcq weekend as less players need it immediately and more will become available on the market

I pulled an engraver at sneak peek, sold it instantly for $120 worth of rarity collection QCRs. Feels like I could have gotten a better deal but I have zero interest in the deck and don't want to be at the mercy of pre-sale volatility. I'll take my shiny staples and put them into my gimmick puppet deck since they decided that I can pick up everything I still need for pennies, and thankfully I got all the older cards before the buyouts

I am glad that day 2 of Gamer's Choice pre orders for this set went live that I bought the Mimighoul core after reading how the single cards worked. And honestly, I am glad that I have it and will be sad if I don't get it because this monster archetype is busted. $300+ for Fiendsmith is just out of range, as was the $200 White Forest core, but getting the cracked support upgrades is going to be the key part of the drama. Fiendsmith would up my Magical Musketeer d3ck, but sometimes, you gotta get what you can afford. And the fact that duelists are going nuts to get them in two days for the NAWCQ is insane.

I'm going to nats and all the locals in my area were super low on product. I managed to buy 6 boxes thanks to some friends helping me circumvent the 1 box per person limit and managed to get all my engravers (2 from boxes plus one I bought for $100) Always feels bad at presale prices but seeing it jump to $150 feels good for me for once lmao)

......Whelp.... I think this is a sign to hang up my hat and leave paper play. I'm unlikely to ever afford to play competitively. I've been trying to chase it for too long. It's not even the Fiendsmith stuff itself (although six-ten months ago, I'd hoped to play Yubel)... No, it's the White Woods rarities and prices. This game has just made itself clearer and clearer that it doesn't exist for someone like me. Rarity Collections are cold comfort when confronted with an annual engine that costs 300-600 dollars.

WHAT ON EARTH?! Flourishing Hills went up?! 👀 As someone who has been playing the deck since the inception of the deck, I am so glad I was able to pick up the whole set when they was like literal cents to $1 but I really didn't think Flourishing Hills went up like this. And the last place I played Vernusylph (and I still do) was this past week at my sneak peak locals playing Vernusylph Madolche with new support to test out. Deck is crazy if able to play the lines correctly.

Lmao no it wont. Beatrice is not the fulcrum of that deck the way vfd was for virtual world. They still have a free omni. They can still make 2 other rank 6 negates. The deck can still to a fuck ton of things. Maybe it will go down to 85 per engraver but surely not 40 for rhe core

Looking at a list of set release order, I kinda feel like the power creep really ramped up with BODE. We went from a format with Virtual World and Tri-brigade into Adventure DPE pile decks. Then we get the punk engine being splashed into decks to make chaos ruler from DIFO. Then Runick is printed in TAMA. Then POTE TrollDespair. Bystials and Fenrir in DABL. Konami leaned into printing more and more powerful generic engines/staples vs just printing multiple strong archetypes that can compete with each other.
