Stumbled across your channel. I’m a Gen II/Edge junkie like you (assuming you are). Love the old videos man.

Been watching your channel for a long time now, miss how you would upload constantly. Hows all the other projects coming along? specifically the 440/800

Life gets busy, especially working far from home in the oilfield. But, I’m doing my best to get out there and put in some miles and wrench time this season.

My 800 xcsp has been a pain sense I bought I put new track on it new slides and new head gaskets but still over heats I finally got a extra cooler for it for only 60$ gunna put it on and a better snow flap and I’m hoping this year I can finally use it without it over heating ima put another head gasket and make sure no air in it and a digital temp gauge and I’m hoping it’ll be good my 550 fan supersport back fired thre years ago without air box lines and skirt broke and stalled I’m finally got new piston new slides new gaskets getting new rings and carbine and hoepfully I can ride that if there’s not enough snow for the 800 I can’t wait to hear it run again but let me know if u have any tips for the 2002 xcsp 800m-10 other then the aftermarket cooler and temp gauge the first two times it overheated cause the studs and track broke loose and put holes threw the heat exchanger I replaced it and boom track studs broke again and gridded threw the new one 😢 but I got both of them welded and happen again but now got a track without studs so no more fucking with that atleast hopefully the aftermarket cooler and temp fixes my problems fuck double studs 😂 I lost horsepower but won’t be worrying about them ripping the track apart anymore

Garrett I think it's definitely worth the $150 you paid for it, clutches alone are worth that .

I'm starting to get ready for winter here in michigan, last year I bought a 2000 xc 700 that I probably shouldn't have, the compression feels low and its a dog until you get into it so I probably have to rebuild it before it actually blows up and makes a complete waste of a grand, what should I do for parts? shop around on marketplace for used or just go straight for OEM? I haven't touched it yet also it could use a track which is unfortunate.
@AKproXRАй бұрын
First things first, put a compression gauge on it and see where it is at. Stock should be 125~ PSI. Never hurts to do a visual inspection as well. Lately I have had preference using prox brand pistons, though I recommend OEM gaskets. Inspect the water pump for shaft play & smoothness while spinning the shaft, as well as the water/oil pumps belt. Odds are usually when one of these 700’s feels sluggish it’s do to worn clutch components or improperly tuned carbs.

Where are out in Michigan? I’m in southwest, spend a ton of time in Marquette during winter.
@isaacnorton6251Ай бұрын
@AKproXR ok thanks for the recommendations, I did check the compression and it was in the mid 90s but I don’t fully trust the gauge so I need to pull the plugs on my 700Rmk which runs great and cross reference, although just with difference of how hard they pull over I think it’s ready

Any chance you have a set of carbs and a throttle cable for a 98 xcr 440?
@AKproXRАй бұрын
I unfortunately already got rid of all the 440 engine related parts from both my 98 xcr’s.

Do you put the big wide bearing in your bottom ends like 800s the recommend
@AKproXR14 күн бұрын
No. I have only ever had one fail out of all my 800’s, and that was near 15 years ago.

Worth the money what is your opinion on stainless steel valves vs stock
@MidnightPolaris8002 ай бұрын
Stainless are upgrades usually for the 800s as they dont have as much cooling around the base on the cyl as the 700s do.
@NickFiner2 ай бұрын
@@MidnightPolaris800 I have stainless in both my 700 and 800 big blocks, melted some aluminum ones in the 800
