You guys helped me decide on my first real entry level tail and rudder 3 Channel pusher prop in the Dromida Sky King 2 review! I may actually save up for this now. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
@TimeOverMatter7 жыл бұрын
Great video you two!!! On the 3D/6G switch, this has been my experience with XK on a smaller nose prop plane. When you have throttle applied is the only time when stabilization is active (either mode). If you are in 6G then you are very restricted as this will try to prevent stalls, loops, roll overs and such (very beginner mode for training). The 3D mode still has stabilization active but it should allow you to do loops, rolls, stalls and so on. If you cut power in flight (glider) then you have zero stabilization. That is why you and I see the control surfaces kick when you engage the prop. That's been my experience. Luv your videos, keep up the good work and keep them in the air!

Nice plane! I approve! As a pusher prop advocate,I think that is a perfect beginner plane and great for FPV. They are not speed demons by any means. I find if you dive them then pull back quickly, they will loop. I cannot get them to roll,or invert but thats the nature of the beast. Even without stabilization, I doubt you could 3-D a pusher. They were never designed for that. I find my little WLToys Sky King that is a baby to that one can hang in the air just as long as my mini Radian. They are good gliders,not sport planes. The fact its brushless is awesome. Nice and big,able to handle a little breeze,FPV able,yes,a good addition to even an experienced pilot. Everyone needs an easy flyer.

Zena RC and FPV Pusher prop planes are fun! Being its brushless is awesome too. It is a bigger version of the WL Toys SkyKing which I love flying. I could see myself buying this just for the fun of it. Even us " experienced flyers " Like the beginner planes. That one neing that it has stabilization would be an easy plane to fly. The SkyKing doesnt have it. I would seriously get it.

Great flight. I do like the quad chasing the airplane footage!! If those newbie pilots want to really learn how to fly after they have become bored of a plane like this, they should try it in unpowered flight. The most challenging type of flying there is is gliding! Many professional airline pilots start off their flying careers by learning how to fly gliders. And learning to fly gliders has saved lives! Captain Chesley B."Sully" Sullenberger, the pilot who landed his crippled plain i the Hudson was a glider pilot, and his glider pilot instincts are a good part of what enabled him to land safely in the Hudson river. Another incident, here in Canada known as the "Gimly Glider", where Captain Robert (Bob) Pearson landed a 767 after a total loss of power on former Canadian Airforces base Gimli that had been converted to a raceway and dragstip. Again, his experience as a glider pilot allowed him to safely land his plane, including using a common glider manoeuvre known as a "side slip" that allows the pilot to loose altitude on approach without loosing speed or heading.
@TheRcSaylors7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Farrell! That's a great tip, to fly it while gliding without power. There is a lot a person can do with this plane and not get bored. I still need to see the movie they made about captain Sully.
@FarrellMcGovern7 жыл бұрын
I've flown gliders and small planes, although I never got enough time in the air to get my pilot's license. (it's expensive!) So I have more than a passing interesting in all types of flying, including fixed and rotary....and even lifting bodies (as seen in that old show The Six Million Dollar Man).

Time to assemble, glue together and solar-film cover the plane and install the R/C and engine, 6 months. How long it took to get my R/C glow-plug engined plane trimmed, tuned, radio-checked, started and up in the air; 3hrs 25min (with the help of 3 experienced assistants). Flight time was 1min 20sec, digging the engine out of the hole it made in the ground after it's vertical dive took 3min. Time to recover and clean the dirt out of the engine & remove radio/servers from the wreckage and dispose of the broken air-frame was 35 min. Time to get back to my car to drive home was 10sec. Time to resolve never to do this again was 1sec.

You get LESS stabilisation in the 3G mode and can do loops and slow (very rolls. but it is still stabilised. In my opinion the fpv version flies better as it is easier to balance. (I've flown both) It was designed as a fpv & camera plane and the stability/speed reflects that Good review and nice flying Abby

"... blew out my plane." I don't think I've ever heard Abby have such a strong accent. I like that you gave Kent a shout-out on his bday! Nathan why no sticker????? I'm sort of angry now... (as Abby said I would be). So... in the end can you turn off the stabilization mode or not? I saw 3D and 6G but I don't understand what those are...(the white text you post in the video). Do you ever see how things work with other batteries (ie. 3S)? Abby's take-off throwing it was pretty cool... I mean it was like a 5 year old girl throwing a football for the first time... but she used her mouth lol! Awesome! I thought she was going to take off from the ground! Thanks for the video! This plane is one that I like... but compare this to other planes in its price-point, is there anything comparable for a starter that is faster or more feature rich?

Dante Planeta I say for sure! It is a good plane to do a lot with! The wings on those are always an issue but guys always work around that issue. I added a longer Spar to my SkyKing, the baby version of this. They fly really stable and can easily be platformed for FPV. Yes a larger battery, bigger motor will make it faster if you want. The main thing is the solid base you start out with. That plane looks plenty sturdy too.

Nice video ... thanks! A bit lite on technical details tho... Watched the full video hoping you'd mention final resolution of stabilization disabling to allow any aerobatics ... like a roll at the very least. Also no mention of range ... or FPV (lack of and possible adding) ... GPS possible add ... and no un-boxing or assembly ... what if I want to take the wings off for transport? Would love to see a follow-up video! Love your channel ...
@TheRcSaylors7 жыл бұрын
Hey John, I suppose a bit of that could have been useful ;) So the stabilization can't be turned off. We threw the switch mentioned in the instructions and it was still on, just less extreme so no stunts on this :( Flight range is going to be line of sight distance, so I wouldn't push too far out. We will try and show more info like this on future videos ;)
