Dude love this video. I’m always coming up against these situations where the potential for liability (panel cover) seems high. I take all this time to explain to the property manager that panel not being covered properly is dangerous and they never care…The owner doesn’t know or care and now that I touched the panel box I feel responsible for everything that’s inside of it.

Thanks for watching!!! I’m the same way I always feel responsible for everything if I see an issue. I try to cover myself. So in this case I would put it on the invoice that the panel needs replaced due to missing cover potentially creating an unsafe condition. I have insurance but never plan to use it. This job I didn’t like how the cable exited the wall but I can’t fix everything.

You gotta start charging more, brother. $50/hr is way too low. For the type of work you do, you should be double that at least. A lot of people are afraid to raise their prices for fear they will lose customers, but in reality, if you are reliable and do quality work, they will continue to use you. Try to price by the job, but make sure you are minimally meeting your hourly needs. Your videos are awesome, and you do a good job!

Haha. Everyone says I should raise my prices. I’ve worked for this landlord for 11 years. I make my money as a landlord not as a handyman. I agree my prices are low compared to others, but if I need work I can text the landlord and I will probably have more work than I know what to do with. Maybe that’s worth more. Idk thanks for watching!

Agreed, I like doing the work. Since I started watching your videos. I lowered my prices in the hopes of developing longer relationships with the landlords I serve. Especially now since I have all the tools, equipment, etc., already.

Love the screw driver trick. What is name of the foam you sprayed in the wall?

Loctite spray foam. I like it because it’s white, not yellow like great stuff

I can’t afford all those fancy tools u have haha. I keep track of my hours. It’s always interesting to see. Biggest time saver is a stocked van.

@handylandlord yea a stocked van is a must!!! U and I both know making trips to the hardware store is a pain in the butt!!!

Good job especially for $150 and three hours. Aren't Pushmatic breakers in the same category as Federal Pacific? Surprised you would buy Truewerk- pants go for $85 and not spring for insulated screwdrivers. Haven't noticed a decline in Truewerk quality, but very, very pricey.

I’m not sure of details on pushmatic breaker boxes. This is just temporary to get the stove back up and running. I’m not sure about the pants but the sweatshirts are not the same as they use to be. I will do a video or short. I like the t2 pants for winter.

Pushmatic is just old. I don't think they have made them for years but I don't believe they were ever recalled. I was told always change out Federal Pacific and Stab-loc as they are fire hazards

Agree. I still try to change pushmatic boxes if possible. I carry several different types of breakers on my van just no pushmatic.
