I see people making so many adjustments to commercial doors, bending the hinges and adding extra hardware. Just replace all the hinges with brand new high-quality bearing hinges will solve the problem almost 90% of the time.

Good video; I have used larger diameter screws in existing hinge to door ( not jamb) to fix this.

The hinge didn’t fail, some idiot put a wedge between door and frame a bent the hinge reinforcement. Repaired many of them. Get an old hinge of appropriate size, cut off knuckles, weld to a length of solid bar, screw to hinge reinforcement and bend it back into place.

What would've even caused this to happen in the first place? Was someone hanging on the door? I would have thought that an adjustment on the door would've fixed it.

When a wedge is placed on the door to keep it open and someone tries to close the door.

You should get a tool called the hinge Dr. Could have fixed that in under a minute.

On this door, it’s the piece that the hinge attaches to that’s messed up. Not sure how the tool would fix that, as the hinge itself is fine, I’ve never used that particular tool though just the smaller hinge benders for residential doors

Couldn’t you fix the top hinge by tightening/repalcing the screws connected to the door?

On this one. The hinge is separated from the door internally at a weld. All screws are flush

At 40 seconds I knew how I'd fix it. 1.Pull top and middle hinge pins 2.close door 3. Adjust reveal with feather wedges. 4. Use crescent wrench to over adjust top and center jamb side of hinge barrels. 5. Replace hinge pins. 6.pat myself on the back

Never do that, bending the barrels causes other issues.

The door closer mechanism puts so much pressure on the top of the door that it eventually deforms the top hinge or causes the hinge screws to fail. I see it all the time.

Assholes stick objects between door and frame to hold door open , ( like a broom handle) this is what really fucks the door up.
