MinnDak I keep trying to get you to try grilling some salmon up on a brown paper bag on the grill to show everyone out there that you can cook fish on the grill on a brown paper bag and the paper bag won’t burn up either!!! Definitely give it a try buddy!! Just remember to cut the brown paper bag no more than a 1/4” past the sides of the fillet and to coat both sides of the brown paper bag with a thin layer of vegetable oil or butter!!! Either will work!!!

Nice session there team! If you want to get the full power of the long rod, get the butt of the rod braced on your hip and your hand up on the top of the grip. This will give you a LOT more leverage. In a long fight it can be a bit of a pain with the butt digging into your hip, but you can get a fishing belt to fight them even better. I'm in my 50s (yeah old and crusty lol) and have been surf fishing for most of my life here in Australia. The gear you're using is pretty standard gear for fishing here. 12-16 foot rods with 4000-10000 series spinning reels, running 25-50lb mono. Check out Alvey side-cast reels (650 A5) for a "Queensland" iconic surf fishing reel. Most of my gear these days comes from Kmart as we don't have Wallyworld here.

@MinnDakOutdoors here's a recipe if you guys would like tk try it out. -lemon grass -ginger -yellow onions -green onions -salt and MSG and black pepper. Boil the heads in a pot along with the lemon grass and ginger and add your spices to your liking taste the broth. Then all the rest of the veggies into the boil after its done cooking. Let the veggies soak with lid closed for about 5-10mins before serving. Great with some rice. Lmk if you guys try this out. Would like to see a catch and cook video. 👌
