Thank you Vicky. Really appreciate you taking the time to go through and explain what/how/why you choose those piles. I'm one of those that really wants to learn to sort to be able to tackle larger piece counts. This was really helpful for me, it really helped clarify why I'm bad at sorting. Why I had such a hard time with piece management in the Pokemon puzzle. I am very confident now that I don't want to sort like that. I am for sure going to be more of a phase sorter. Only pull out what you want when you want them, and also pull out any huge parts to set aside for later so that there are less pieces to shuffle through. I love series like this because it really shows how differently everyone approaches the same puzzle. I just need more confidence and practice in doing it my way. Your channel has helped me a lot and I'm really liking the Discord chats. Thank you. ❤🧩❤️

Super helpful video. It is great to get the perspective of an expert puzzler. I was super fascinated that you did a shuffle sort. When I have sorted in the past, I have always gone piece by piece and your approach never occurred to me. I am looking forward to trying your technique, and puzzling along on this puzzle.

Hi Vicky, although we haven’t got the puzzle, your description of sorting is spot on for us. We are definitely phase sorters for sure having just done this type of sorting with the 2000 piece Heye Castle of Horror. Great video and a huge help. M+C🥰🥰🤗🤗

I’ve started the puzzle haven’t done a lot yet. I did a basic sort of edges, sky, owls, pink flowers and buildings. I’m glad you talked about stopping in the middle of sorting a larger piece count puzzle the one thing that puts me off large puzzles is the idea of sorting 5000+ pieces so I’m glad you are still able to complete them with a stop and start method of sorting and I’m not the only one who gets bored with sorting. I loose interest once I have a nice pile of pieces and just start building. I’m often a bit of a box sifter which is difficult in large piece counts especially as they don’t make the boxes big enough for my sifting needs. With this puzzle I’ve left most of the foliage in a miscellaneous pile and will just sift through to find the flowers etc. I find if I have too many piles when I try and sort I lose track of all the piles and make more missorting errors.

The way you describe yourself as a sorter is soooo accurate to me as well! I start sorting with the best of intentions and then slowly lose the will to live! The highest piece count I’ve ever done was 3000 and the sorting just about killed me lol! I just set up a puzzle trade with someone for the 9000 Trefl Greatest Disney Collection….so I will have to rewatch some of your large piece videos again before I work up the courage to give it a shot…I do like your idea of phase sorting and the taping of the boards together. You always have such good tips! Can’t wait to see your progress on this one!
