quick note basic fizz combos QAWEA AQAWEA if close to opponent E(recast it for quick E)AW(q backwards through minions for escape) you can R flash, also E flash only when you don't recast E, auto W is pretty much the strongest level 1 short trading tool in the mid lane melee matchups minus maybe a few exceptions level 2 cheese spike is insane if you got the auto W off early, recasting E and auto W gives electrocute and an insane amount of damage fizz has ghosting and takes less damage from autos from his passive so use it to your advantage you can zhonyas during E and if timed right will start cd of it as well also note that if you are really fed or just need to quickly finish off a target you can W then Q and it will account for W damage but you lose the auto reset of the W so use it carefully and well middicus beasticus explained already but Qing through a minion and casting R during it will hide the ult animation finally, you can actually trade under turret and E out to safety with QAW then E if you time it well as E drops tower aggro and cancels most channel abilities like caitlyn R

more people don't play fizz because his main damaging ability is also his only escape tool, but the issue is is now due to durability update and how overpowered maw is you could be full build on fizz and all an ezreal would have to do is build maw and you can no longer one shot him with full combo. Trust me, I've had it happen in one of my games despite me having 25 stack mejai no boots. Fizz took a pretty big hit when they removed mana off sheen and then further nerfed his mana. Not sure about how he is now in terms of mana but hes basically fully reliant on mage mana items instead of the assassin items that are meant for pure burst damage

@@LoveYourself-318 he just gets outclassed by most other assassins in his archetype, especially when you get to high elo, his steep E mana cost and 0 ranged ability makes it really difficult to control waves and if someone just keeps their distance its almost impossible to get the cheese that fizz is known for if they play properly. Also just the sheer ridiculousness that one mr item is enough to counter majority of ap champs from being useful but zhonyas can't stop a champ from getting 100-0'd by almost every ad champ

Maybe I'm wrong here.. But it seems like potentially a positive thing that by picking Fizz, you could force the enemy team to divert their gold to purchases they might have otherwise not made. It's 500 gold for a stop watch, single use, right? Then its just dead in your inventory until you get a GA or an hourglass. If you could force your lane opponent to make this purchase pretty early, seems like a lot of pressure once its down, and it sounds like its going to be down as soon as your 60 second CD ult is used. Now your enemy is down 500 gold towards completing their first item, and is going to get hit by the next ult in a minute. Either that, or they forego buying the stopwatch, and just eat ults. This sounds like exactly the kind of thing pro's could take advantage of best, but I'm no analyst. Just a fan who likes watching the games.

Personally, I can't. So my thinking here is that by making your enemy spend 500 gold on something that isn't going to help them complete their first item, and thus a power spike, you gain that gold advantage over them simple for the pick, and also hit your power spike earlier than them. Normally I'd say these margins don't matter in solo queue. But in pro play, that's a team fight won off denying your opponent a power spike, y'know? And being able to force stopwatch/hourglass on demand is a hell of a powerful tool, IMO.

If you do the math you will see that another 50% AP ratio added to the kit from an item that gives 80AP is still good as a 5th damage item maybe a 4th depending on if you need void or not. If they got tanks you got to go void 4th item, otherwise it can work after Ludens, Hourglass, Dcap, Flex, etc
