her parents both Korean, but She chose Japanese nationality and became Japanese. Ever since she was a child, she hated going to her grandparents' house, where they imposed Korean Confucian customs on her. When she was a student, she admired and had high hopes for her homeland korea. she thought korea is comfortable home country. When she finally went to Korea, she felt alienated and despaired, contrary to her expectations. the reality was very different. she so much disappointed in korea. that's why she go back to japan and never living in korea and give up korean nationality. I'm sure she was bullied in Korea. I don't think Koreans know this, but Zainichi Koreans face even more bullying in Korea than in Japan. Tadanari Lee(football player) and Akiyama(judoka) were bullied just like her and returned to Japan. They are called panchoppari and are severely bullied. Both Tadanari Lee and Park Roml accepted themselves as Japanese and chose to become Japanese. It's too late to claim that she's Korean after she became famous. The Japanese people have been her friends and supported her since she was an ordinary person. she also married a japanese husband.

That's a shame. i'm really sorry for that as korean. i don't want you to think all korean hate them. it's clear they are wrong in time people who you said are living. i guess when people like Akiyama and Romi were young, Korea hated Japan. Because until then, Korea had a bad image of Japan because of its history of being ruled by Japan. so there was probably even more prejudice and discrimination against the Japanese. but, a lot has disappeared now, and I also hope to have a cooperative relationship with each other in the future.
