You know what's odd. For the sole 150m EVENT Noah is technically the outright American record holder, because Gay ran 14.51 in 2011 in the just the 150m event. Gay's 14.41 American record was enroute to a 19.42, but because it was technically still on a straight it's counted as the second fastest 150m. Think of it like Su's 6.29 60m VS Coleman's 6.34. Yes so has the fastest 60m ever ran and is officially acknowledged, but it technically isn't a WR because it wasn't run in the 60m EVENT but enroute to 100m. Coleman ran 6.34 in the sole 60m event which is why his time is a WR, but no Su's.
@ExileRadio6 ай бұрын
I agree, technically Gay’s run shouldn’t be an official 150m NR because it was on route to 200m and not a 150m race.

In context, Bolt ran his 14.35 when it was no contest, a completely exhibition style race. He also did it when the floor was wet. Nonetheless, this kind of shows why Noah has a chance of beating Bolt's 150 or 200m records. Over the slightly longer distance, Bolt does slow down a bit. But over the short 100m distance, nobody can match Bolt's top speed.
@Shocker7006 ай бұрын
To beat Bolts 200m record Noah would need to run sub 10 in the opening 100 and sub 10 in the last 200. In both of Bolt's 200m records he ran 9.98 and 9.32 (19:30) and 9.92 and 9.27 (19.19). Noah's split for his AR was 10.15 and 9.16. For comparison the 2nd fastest 200m ever by Yohan Blake splits were 10.14 and 9.12 (19.26).
