At our academy we had this issue where one or two guys were only turning up to certain classes. We were running them anyway for years. It was a disaster and very demoralising for the instructor. We now have have a pre booking policy. There must be a minimum booking of 6 students before the booking deadline or the class is cancelled. This has worked well for us.

The pre booking is actually a great approach! iI'm sure more academies would benefit from that kind of a system.

It doesn't mean you have to put air fresheners in the bathroom, but you could put some air fresheners in the bathroom.

One of the biggest missed opportunities within the BJJ sales community is being up front and transparent with the path that a student is desiring. Day one, second one…”how can we help you, what exactly are you looking for, what is your one to three year goal with BJJ?, we’d love to walk you through how we can facilitate this for you!”. Dude! That would be fucking amazing to hear! “I want to achieve my blue belt”, “o want to be more fit” “I want self defense for my wife” that’s three different paths that should look extremely different to the same person AND THE BUSINESS. It’s like…”hey, sign here, see you on the mat”. WTF?! 🤦♂️
