You summed it up there Tobias. Yes it was great to meet up with old acquaintances and there are so many people there from all over the world it's a huge event... but that and the conditions isn't everyone's cup of tea.

At leased you are now wiser for next year 😊 it’s always been my understanding that my detector is more conductive in damp conditions not sure if I’m right but the temp on those 2 days wouldn’t have been the best conditions anyway better luck next year

Hey you did ok for your first Detectival. You got here and you lived the experience. This was freakish weather for us - Next year it'll probably be raining! I was running my XP Deus Master with the 9" coil. It probably did a better job of cutting through the stubble than most machines and was much less tiring than my Nox would have been. Ground conditions were terrible; you just needed to notch down the sensitivity and knock out the noise. There were some good finds coming up here and there. Perseverance is part of our lives as detectorists. Maybe next year you'll find gold? It's how it goes. Good luck hunting😊

Thanks for your comments. I did change sensitivity but it’s more serious than that. Coil has either water inside or it’s something else else - maybe it’s had its days. I’ve had it for a few years. Unfortunately that was the only coil I had with me. I’ve tried the elliptical coil when I came home and had no problems. Thank you again.

I was there and yes it was so unreal hot temp. on Sat no wind it was only 31 degs but I up after only 2 hours heat stroke the ground was bad the grass was un cut at 18 inches stalks were 12 inches I bent a stainless steel spade trying to dig a couple if inches the finds were few and far between looks like the land had been detected for years thats why there were no mention of. Of undetected land. most of all I feel For all the foreign detectorists. Who came from so far away to experience. venue ....... I won't be attending. Again
