I think part of the reason why they switch off that EFT option and switching over to swift is to address the greylisting that we have been put on for the last 2 years or so.

I never disagree with Botsang but I have to partially on the 2 pot system. This call has been made by the unions since long ago. To give access to the the retirement funds without having to leave the organisation. I guess the ruling party finally decided to appease them. Considering it was signed in so they can win the elections. So to address your concerns. I think the "blame" for this "scam" should be put solely at the unions feet. Considering the low savings rate and also trying to assist people with financial challenges. Rather use what u have rather than loan sharks. The downside however, like you said, there are no guidelines on what is deemed an emergency. Further to, I think it's irresponsible to say invest in property rather than retirement. Because this is how the cycle of black tax continues. Our parents a d us are just not saving enough. The lives we live now, with no savings we will not make it. Older funds used to have a housing benefit, and you could borrow against your savings at a much lower rate. THAT must be what we advocate for. That being said. It's now a new source of funds , more money to loot😊.

In fact GEPF have confirmed that, if you're unemployment and want to withdraw from the two pot system, you will not be taxed

@thabisosehume where did you get that? Can you please support your statement by sharing where GEPF stated that if you are unemployed and you want to withdraw from the 2 pot system you will not be taxed. All withdrawals from 2 pot savings will be tax at marginal tax rate.

Organizations need funding, White Orgs get funding from as far as Europe and the US including SA private Businesses cause the push for the maintanence of the Status Quo. that cannot be said by Black lawyers who do not enjoy those privileges.
