I tend to get fussy with my oils. So the pour painting technique really has made me accept letting random happen.... You are the reason that I got into the pouring in the first place. I used to think it was throwing paint at a canvas and hoping it would stick. But you explained the technical aspects so well, that it made it seem like a challenge. I really enjoy doing it now!

These are alcohol ink. They are very similar to watercolor, but not exactly. But, if you can do one, you can do the other. 😉

I am so glad to see you using YUPO because I have some and have been intimidated by it....so there it sits. How was it to paint on? Did you notice any difference? Better/worse. The finished painting sure has some beautiful color mixes but that might just be the inks. Any way you look at it, GOOD JOB. Putting in the trees sure made the mountains look huge. Very pretty painting. Thank you for your video and editing time. You are sounding better.

Thank you Judy. Still battling this creeping crud. 🙄 I definitely noticed a difference between the original yupo one the Tim Holtz yupo. Lifting dried ink was much easier on the real deal. More control than on tile. I know what you mean though. It’s not cheap. You hate to waste it. Good news is, you could probably just wipe and start over on the good stuff, which in the end, is a better investment. You don’t have to keep the duds.

I haven’t sealed any yet, but when I do I’ll use Kamar UV by krylon.

When working with artist mediums, (especially alcohol based products), you should be wearing a face mask and I would go as far as wearing goggles too. I knew someone who had cancer and she was warned to do this. I think it should be a precaution for everyone. Lovely work. I like your music too.

Gina, this is an acrylic pouring question. So often my undercoat comes through on the edges. Please, do you have a cure for this problem?

Most of them are straight alcohol inks. I did have two colors diluted from a previous project that I sometimes use instead of straight alcohol.

How did you paint the trees without reactivatiing the ink, did you use some sort of fixative?

No fixative. just very careful.

Just make sure your brush is barely wet with ink.
