That was so fun to watch! You are never boring. 😁🌞 A question, if I may. What makes a cell activator? I had previously thought it was just when white is used, but you said you use colour, too. So, what exactly makes one thing the paint, and another thing the cell activator?

Hi Lisa, firstly I want to thank you 🙏 for another wonderfully informative and educational video. We, as viewers and reasonably new bloomers, just starting our Bloom journey, are very lucky to have you, doing all this work, as well as using your products, ( which are not cheap), to teach us. For all you do and for putting yourself out there, thank you 🙏. With love and respect from Australia ♥️💯♥️💐💐

Thank you so much - what a generous donation of your time!! The Golden surprised the the most. I liked the Pebeo results but don't think I'd want to stick my face it it... After careful consideration and re-watching the final results four times, my favorite was the Liquitex heavy body. I appreciated your scientific approach to the whole experiment, and that you did this all in one sitting. Your pool of varied paints was very good - good price range and demonstration of paints accessible to multiple artists. All in all, worth the 42 minutes on our end and I was grateful that you posted.

It was a valuable experiment because, as you said, they all provide different effects. Amsterdam yes! Liquitex prof heavy body yeah! Also the golden and winsor and newton I liked too. I have used the Atelier but it needed to be 4:1 rather than 3:1. So appreciate this Lisa because it is good to see how they turn out.

Thank you... I am so appreciative. I have to say it twice...thank you. I have been searching for a video that discusses different brands that yield cells during a bloom... I assume the black paints will yield similar results. Can you do another video with the black paints? Thanks for your consideration.

What a great video, Lisa! A wonderful aid for us amateurs! I think they each would work, just some work better and more natually. The ones I really love are like yours pretty much, Amsterdam, Liqutex HB, Golden and Liquitex Basics, in that order. I don't dislike the others, those are just my favorite! I searched for a video on your cell activator specifically, so thanks! Now to find one for the pillow paint! :)

FYI, I use Amsterdam tit. white, or Liquitex Basics tit. white as bases in my Dutch Pours where my paints are all mixed with just water and all the same consistency, and I actually get some cells with the Liquitex basics, much more that the Amsterdam. Don’t know about CA’s, have only used the Amsterdam for white CA

Wow..... that took a minute but I really wanted to see which paint to use as a cell activator because people use so many different ones. So, I will go with Amsterdam, Liquitex heavy body or Windsor & Newton. Again, thank you for doing this comparison. 😃 Should just keep my mouth shut but.... lots if people use white and black cell activators. Why?? And does the black act differently than the white. 🤷‍♀️

So on your ca you don't want it to sink right in you want it to leave a small Trace is that correct? Because the last batch I got which took forever and was in the winter I know it got Frozen and that's a whole new story but curious about it just sinking right in or should it leave at least a one second Trace? Please and thank you. And appreciate you doing this. 😋💞💞

Atelier paints are branded “interactive” as they have an additive that allows them to be reworked when dry. This may have caused the issue. I have had similar problems and don’t use them for blooms or pouring.

Hi from Alberta. Thank you for buying all those brands and doing this experiment. I like blooms and I watched every minute. I like Arteza and Windsor Newton because of the lacing mixed with cells. Did you add all of the Floetrol at once to the Basics? Some paints, like Amsterdam Expert Titanium White, don't mix well, I THINK because of the body of the paint or the thickness of the binders.🤔🤨 Someone feel free to correct or expand on that. I have to add the Floetrol in small amounts and mix very well to prevent it from clumping like that. It's a process, but it works!☺

You do make me chuckle - perhaps all great alchemists have messiness in common. You are wonderful to share your findings with us. The one that surprised me was the Pebeo high viscosity. I expected more from the Atelier (which I just ordered) so I'll play with the consistency. Thank you.

There is one I've tried that I really like, it's M.Grahm Titanium white and Lamp Black. The cell structure is amazing. You might like it!

Great vid Lisa. My 3 choices would be Amsterdam, Windsor, Arteza. Arteza with a little work I think would look good. There is one professional paint where I live (Colombia) that I'm going to try and see how it compares. Thanks LIsa.

Thanks for your experiments Lisa! The Amsterdam is my #1, but I'm surprised how most of them were good especially if you would adjust the consistencies. 🙂
