These little engines were brilliant, lasted for many years. just leaked a bit of oil, but great little motors. about 8,000 rpm and about 2bhp at full throttle. good old English engineering.

Actually an electric fuel pump for an auxiliary/transfer tank is set up very similar to a roots supercharger.

@@Bysin769 a brass gear pump and a blower are far different. In theory you could potentially makw a very large brass gear pump a blower. But the tolerances between the gear and the walls need to be extremely tight for any positive pressure to be created in the intake around .007" max. Id say half that .0035" because we are dealing with tiny gear edges not a roots style or corckscrew type rotor assembly. Then rotor timing or gear timing, you need to get the gears as tight together as possible without contact at speeds lf around 20k rpms.... Good luck

cool. thanks for sharing. i think it needs a proper muffler/silencer. it'd probably help the start and run adding some more compression and back pressure. look at some japanese 50cc mufflers. vintage ones are the easiest to replicate...like the honda express (nc50)...

Hi, there is no water pump: in a boat, the water is "pushed" by the propeller in a scoop and , via a line system, arrives in the cylinder jacket to cool it. Here, the engine is just cooled by the water contained in a bucket ,

I'd heard of this engine decades back, also the Channel Island Special. Sure is a free revving little thumper - is there any way to retard the timing for a nicer idle? I was a fan of the little four strokes, an O.S. FS-60 was my first in '77 and went on to use several others. Edit: Fine ginger kitty in the background. Also noticed one of your mounting screws was vibrating loose.
