Great storm chase, enjoyed every minute. The lightning out at sea was brilliant - that was definitely my favourite. My wife and I live in Sheffield and we both love thunderstorms. Sadly, we don't get many up here, all the activity seems to be going on everywhere else, except Sheffield. We're just hoping that the weather systems this year will be kind to us and give us a good show. Happy storm chasing.

Thank you, I'm happy you enjoyed it. I understand what you mean about not getting many thunderstorms up here. Although I was on the south coast chasing I live near to Derby and so probably receive a similar amount at home as what you do. Fingers crossed for something closer to home 🤞

I was visiting my native Northumberland that particular weekend, and by the time that storm area arrived in the North-East, all we got was a little rain. I had seen on the forecast that there had been a veritable old light show over the south of England (I actually live in Andover, Hampshire)

I wasn't in the best place for this storm where I ended up settling. The best part of the storm on this night was further west and hit the coast between Lyme Regis and Portsmouth.

I was getting excited for storms in the West Midlands but I never saw a single flash all night as I work outside in a railway yard on nights!

Nothing in the part of the East Midlands where I live either. Plenty of time yet though. Fingers crossed.

I've been observing the Blitzortung Lightning Data as well as NetWeather radar for South of England during that time (while I was at Lanzarote) and seen a lot of heavy rain and so much Lightning!! I also saw so many tweets of them Thunderstorms from some of my followers during the time too! I gotta say that was like the most intense Thunderstorms I've ever seen over England on radar so far! ⚡️

The strongest storms on the south coast were on the evening of the 18th, just 3 days after I was there for this video. But I wasn't able to get there to see them.

Been looking forward to your first video of 2022. Really enjoyed this video, as i do all your videos. Did you go out and chase on wed 18th may?. We finally got something in north kent on that evening.

I did try but unfortunately the storms split on approach and went to my north and south. Due to a combination of road closures and the speed the storms were moving I didn't manage to catch them. It ended up a frustrating night, but I can't win them all.
